We stumbled across this Levada by accident and as a consequence were not prepared. Waterproof boots, and a torch are a must.
Having said that we still really enjoyed the walk and with the tree cover the temperature and terrian were comfortable.

Sometimes trying to find the start of a Levada walk is trick but not this one! There is a trout farm, a restaurant and a couple of quite touristy shops to mark the start.

We just went until the waterfall which is after the tunnel. Bring a flashlight. We had the flash from our phone which was ok but a flashlight is usefull. The waterfall is quite impressive. The hike is an easy one.

From the snack bar starting point, you can trek as far along this popular levada as you choose. Most walkers will return to the start. The full walk is some 25kms taking 8 hours, requiring a third party to meet you on the far side.
