After 15 years of visiting and living in Galicia, went to the springs for the first time and loved it. Should have gone many times before... They are not easy to find with Google Maps, look for the "aparcamiento termas de Outariz", which will take...More

Friends took us to one of the thermal pools by the River Mino in Ourense. At this one there were three pools ranging from low 30C to over 40C in heat. It was very refreshing to lie in the pools and then swim in the...More

We were touring Spain and Portugal and decided to include a two night stop over near the springs. The springs are set among woods, fairly well signposted so easy to find. We had a drink in the cafe before we went into the springs -...More

We only went to the free baths and they were great. Maybe because it was the end of May but from 11.00 to 12.00 there were only a handful of people there. Lovely and relaxing, various temperatures-one was too hot to stand in. We drove...More

Thermal springs. Sources up to 70° C... Beatiful areas, some for free. Even paid ones are cheap! Look for A Chavasqueira and Outariz.

The hot springs are spread out along the river, easy to get to on the specially provided tourist train (with big rubber wheels), and an utter treat. The location is lovely, on the banks of the River Miño, and there are 3 different bathing spots...More

Just know before you take you family down there there will most likely be several topless women. Some don't care but it was a shocker for us and we don't really care for that. The one in downtown Ourense was better if that bothers you.

We were staying in Allariz not far from Ourense. The bus ride to Ourense is a community bus and it is difficult for a visitor to find the times and where the bus drops off and picks up. How ever the tourists information offices are...More

You've got to wear a bathing suit of some kind - either a bikini or a one-piece, it doesn't matter which. That's how the attendant explained it to me when he booted me out for wearing clean shorts and a T-shirt. This was at... More

It's forbidden for kids under 5. However, water is quite hot and young children's parents must take some precautions (just in case)
