Lovely place to visit with young children with hands on exhibits, a lovely little shop, a cafe - which had cakes etc but would benefit from serving basic meals - and right on the canal tow path. Free entry, but check opening times.

It was a wet and windy day and seemed a good place to spend a few hours. Very informative and gave a good history of the area. We also had a trip on the narrow boat Still Waters, worth a visit.

Lovely little museum, our two sons aged 3&4 enjoyed looking in all the sections that portray scenes from the past. Would certainly go again if in the area. Only gripe was that the cafe refuses to do hot food ten minutes before it states it...More

A family friendly, well thought out museum with lots of hands on activities for young and not so young. A great record of local history with a special emphasis on transportation, with the canal network at the centre of the topic.
