Hi We where also disappointed not to be running steam over the weekend but unfortunately using a 100yr old steam engine does come with its complications, but luckily we have plenty of dirty diesels ready and waiting to help out. We hope you all enjoyed the farm and outdoor play facilities and manged to warm with your complimentary hot drinks and homemade treats. We thank you for visiting us and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Regards Farmer Matt

3 year old visit to see Father Christmas. Brilliant time and very safe during Covid. I actually think some children have found less scary as Father Christmas was slightly removed. Also, the female Elf who spoke to the kids before going into the grotto was brilliant with the children. Down to their level and not patronising at all.

We come about 4 times a year and we are there from opening til closing time, we live 30 miles away and it’s well worth the trip. All the staff are amazing especially farmer Graham who has the patience of a saint with my 8 and 10 year old guinea pig hoggers. I’m shocked at any bad reviews I can’t believe people complain about mud! And being cold! We haven’t been to neighbouring Farmer Teds for years as we just love windmill farm so much. There aren’t many places where we can spend a full day out with no complaints of being bored. Keep it up!!!!!! Reasonably priced too.

Visited Windmill farm today for the pumpkin picking event with my partner and daughter aged 2, from start to finish was brilliant. The animals are so well cared for and their is so much to do including a petting area where children could hold rabbits and guinea pigs, was also a creepy crawler area with spiders, snakes and tortoises this was particularly good as you could hold the 18foot snake on a seating area and get a photo. All staff was so lovely nothing was too much trouble and they all seemed happy to be their and interact with the children/grown ups also was very educational about the animals especially the man in creepy crawlers area. Around the farm their are various different bikes, tractors etc for the children to play on which I thought was a excellent edition to the farm as it gives a different touch than other farms I’ve been too which I liked. The train ride was also good it gave great views and you could see the animals also good social distancing may I add, the train was £2 per person but so worth it. The farm also have a large outdoor play area which suited for all ages and as we was walking through the main reception we seen it had a indoor play area too but I think that was closed due to covid. For customers who are cautious of attending due to covid 19 don’t be, I am a children’s nurse and it was extremely safe and secure with multiple hand sanitizers/sinks around and clear signs of 1 way systems and places where a mask was needed. Also may I add that there was cones situated around the farm to show clear signs of social distancing between each person, I thought this was a excellent touch. Toilets was super clean which again at other farms you definitely do not see this, everything was immaculate and indoor seating area for food was well spaced out between tables even though I didn’t sit in as I only grabbed a hot chocolate you could definitely see the excellent system the farm had put in place, also very child friendly as the social distancing stickers was aimed for children and educational as it had numbers of what place you was in until it was your turn. My last comment would be they are a extremely understanding farm, I originally had my booking for the 19th October but due to me having to self isolate(nurse problems) they changed the date to 24th October and was extremely understanding, again we could not attend yesterday because as we was on our way the tyre blew which Matt the farmer was so understanding about and allowed us to change our date to today’s date. This is custom you do not see very often and I would highly recommend them, we traveled 45 minutes from our house and would 100% do it again as it was the best farm we have ever been too (been to a lot as my daughter adores animals). Thank you for such a good day out!
