I came to work in Bridgnorth mid 2016 and made my way at the first opportunity to the veracular railway. It is truly excellent and like a step back in time. I wasn't aware there were any inland in the UK so was very impressed...More

This cliff railway is both quaint and a very functional way of reaching the main shopping streets in High Town from river level. Manned by polite staff, the short ascent affords passengers with spectacular views of the river and its valley beyond. Fantastic value as...More

Living in Bridgnorth I have been on the cliff railway many times its great and probably the only one in existence. A great way to get from low town to high town or vice versa. There's always a black Country visitor who will say I...More

Quick route from low town to high town. Fun ride up to the shops and only £1.60 return fare. Great view on the way down.

Good way to get to High Town where most of the shops are. But rather expensive and you have to pay for a return trip although you can return anytime on the same day.

Britains shortest railway! A vernicular I believe. Victorian engineering at its best. Spectacular views as you climb the steep track over. The River Severn. Once at the top there is a very pleasant cafe and a viewing window where you can see the winding mechanism.

Although the upper terminus is a little hard to find and the entrance to the lower terminus is hidden away it is worth finding. The trip is slow but the views from the carriage are excellent. Beware that there is no single fare you pay...More

We came here in the summer holidays and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is surprisingly a lot of fun and beats walking a long way. If you are in bridgnorth, then go!

Reasonable price for a historical and convenient way to travel. Be transported from the castle ruins and markets of high town to the shops, pubs and river walks of low town. Dogs are also welcomed on the cliff railway. Great views over the river Severn.

You can get to the station with a pushchair but I'm not sure if it'll fit as a push on or if you have to fold it down to get on. The station is a stones throw from the street you could pop in and ask them
