Pass this most days when I’m driving or cycling to Rowantree car park for Bennachie. It’s right next to the road with a small car park. Probably fit 3 cars. It’s covered in the winter hence the good condition it’s in. This is a metal...More

Great example of a Pictish Stone. The stone is in great condition and this is partly down to it being covered during the winter months. Very clear and well maintained area. Little car park at the side of the road.

We eventually found the stone. Google maps suggests it's in the grpunds of Pitroddie House. If you follow the signs off the A96 towards Chapel of Gairoch and Pittrodie House hotel you are heading in the right direction. However do not take the road to...More

This would have been really interesting but unfortunately the stone was in its winter hibernation (covered up) when we visited.

Went to see the stone on a bonny Sunshiny day. The sunlight really brings out the carvings in all their glory. Don't visit in Winter though. A cover is put over the stone for protection against the elements then... Easily accessable, with a great wee...More
