Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went on the mackerel fishing trip last night and it was brilliant. 8 guys fishing so lots of room. Leanne and Stuart were superb as both hosts and at finding fish. Plenty were hooked and returned with a few kept for the frying pan. Stuart wasn`t afraid to move drifts when the fishing went slack and with a final trip to Inchkeith, it was a beautiful backdrop for the last couple of drifts. They even let me use their bench on the pontoon to fillet my fish at the end of the trip. They were not strict on times either, giving us an extra 30 minutes fishing time. Will be back again and highly recommended. Thanks to you both.

This was our father’s birthday experience gift and Leighanne and Stewart made our day very fun, special and memorable. The boat was very nice and clean , all equipment provided was in excellent condition and Leighanne explained clearly how to complete the fishing activity. During the fishing activity , both Leighanne and Stewart was excellent help in removing caught fish from the hook ( not easy for the unexperienced ! ) and fixing tangled fishing lines. All members caught fish , Leighanne and Stewart made sure everyone made at least a catch during this trip.

Amazing day trip and worth every penny. 40 mins by train to Burntisland from Waverley station. Leanne our host was so hospitable informative and filled our trip with confidence while on the Firth of Forth. Wildlife incredible architecture of the 3 bridges at exhilarating speed on the waves. Highly recommended and great value.

We went on the Saturday morning fishing trip - 8:30 am start and two hours of fishing and gawping at the dolphins as they jumped out of the water near the boat. Excellent and knowledgeable hosts, and remarkably nice coffee too! Thanks - and we will definitely be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed my mackerel fishing. I am potentially the world's worst fisherman so it made a pleasant change as I pulled up 9 cracking mackerel. Would recommend for anyone who is either interested in fishing or just fancies something else to do. The couple running it were great , easy going and knew what they were doing.

The whole morning was full of chat, good coffee, plenty of fish and the very pleasant company of our hosts leanne and stewart.
An emphasis on safety was balanced with enjoyment.
We didn't have to motor more than 10 mins to be on the fish. Mackerel can be such fun and the guys knew where to find them.
I can recommend this outing for family, friends and team building as a wonderful, fun, safe experience, but don't hang about, the mackerel will be moving away through August.
Forth Sea Safari also provide other wonderful experiences on the water, look them up.

Leanne was amazing, we felt safe and not rushed. It was an emotional day as she helped us find the perfect spot to scatter my father's ashes. She was also very knowledgable of the area and gave us a great insight on the naval history of Burntisland and the shipyards. It was a lovely personal and intimate experience. I will definitely be returning for a bridges and Inches tour. Thank you Leanne for making the difficult day so much better.

Our guide was great. She was very informative telling us about the history of Inchkeith , it's function during the war , it's ex-inhabitants in the past and it's owners. She took us close to the shore at Burnisland and Kinghorn to allow us to take some great photos . A great trip with amazing views. Thank you

We are so very happy about this experience! We were lucky to have sunny weather ( our only sunny day during our stay !) It was absolutely safe and dry on the boat , we didn’t need our waterproof clothes at all . Leanne was great and explained all the stops of the tour perfectly ! Our favorits were the puffins ! We can highly recommend this tour ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ( plus one ⭐️ for the puffins and one ⭐️ for the seals ! )

Can i get a boat trip to Inchkeith in May this year. We are syating in Kinghorn for the week.

Hi there, I think you'd have to contact them directly. They aren't a 'scheduled' service and tend to run a trip before summer and sometimes one after. Best way would be to call them directly. If you can't get that then Inchcolm is a nice visit and that IS a scheduled sailing with Maid of the Forth. Inchkeith is a LOT more rugged and I love it!
