We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located righ on the main square, this little museum has a wonderful collection of old photographs of Loja lining the walls of the courtyard on both floors. Upstairs there is a small exhibit about Sagoura, a display of colonial art and a room highlighting famous Loja citizens.
Entrance is free however the guards will want to see your passports.

Very nice exhibits. Make sure and go upstairs. Look in every room, even ones that appear dark. Lights will come on automatically or you can use a switch.

This museum is filled with historical artifacts representing Ecuadorian history. The museum docent or manager was very intelligent and provided details for much of the artifacts. The lady was kind and provided sufficient time for my translator to provide the information to me. Very educational and worthwhile.

Attractive building located in Loja’s main square. I found most of the rooms empty or nearly empty. A handful of local religious icons were on display. The art (all modern) that was here, was leaning against the walls as it seemed the museum curators were in the process of changing exhibits. Otherwise, I was disappointed with the lack of substance. The front balcony offers a unique viewing platform overlooking the main square/plaza. Entrance is free - you just have to leave your ID with the guard.

If you go, I hope you have better luck than we did on Monday in June. Google said it was open but all the doors were locked shut. Two police were standing nearby and they looked at the locked doors, said that it was closed and shuffled away before we could ask the anything else.
Then we went across the square to the office of tourism who said that it was open and we needed to push on the green doors next to the blue ones. This didn't work either.
We love Loja but it is unfriendly to tourists : (

Interesting museum to help understand Loja and Ecuador. Worth an hour while in Loja. Nice building too. And it's free to enter!

The first floor has an exhibit with some weird looking sculptures and VERY graphically sexual paintings. Other than that, the second floor is pretty awesome if you're looking for a cultural education of the area. There are a lot of artifacts and wonderful descriptions.
