Egmont national park is just a stunning place, you could easily spend a full day or two exploring it! You'll know the goblin forest when you see it! And it's absolutely enchanting; the twisted trees covered in thick moss...it is really other worldly. We spent...More

To be fair this is a delightful walk. However the “goblin forest” part of the walk is so like all the delightful bush walks in the bush in New Zealand, we found the name a little unnecessary. Most of the bush paths we trod on...More

This is actually part of the larger "Walk" and is not really marked or signed as "The Goblin Forest" but you will know it when you are there. Could be a bit spooky for a small child but for a normal, sane person it is...More

When you walk amoung the moss covered Kamahi trees there's a real sense of peace and tranquility. Nature at it's best. The various shades are green are beautiful.

The walk was magical. There were so many birds there all making their presence known by song and actions. The plants were amazing and the walk ended with a magnificent view of the mountain over the swamp

We drove up as far as the Stratford Plateau, although I think you can start over by Dawsons falls. Use the bathroom at the Stratford Mountain House down the road because there are no toilets at the Plateau car park. We walked through the bush...More

Great walk for any time of the year. On a hot day the forest provides a cooling shade, or shelter from the wind, or cover from the rain. All the trees have character and the track is accessible for most.
