Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was a little disappointed to be honest. We travelled all the way from Popayan and felt that apart from the amazing views there wasn’t much else going for it. The water when we went was hot, one of the pools was even completely unusable it was at boiling point! The largest pool has been emptied for some reason, it’s probably been that way for a while. The only shower is actually a natural one which was so cold we couldn’t stand under it (I actually slipped in this and ripped my whole toe nail off too haha) There were no staff around, maintenance wise I don’t know what happens - realistically I have no idea where the money goes! We luckily went mid week so had the luxury of it being fairly empty! Took a Jeep up for 8k total from Coconoco and walked back...which took about 35-40 mins!

This place could have been perfect given its setting, but unfortunately it was well below our expectations.

The pools looked dirty (not talking about the smell which is normal) and were crowded. There is not much space to relax like a lawn...
Also the staff was not helpful at all...
We did not like staying here and left earlier than expected.

Hot boiling springs, is a sacred site of the town of Coconuco, at 30 minutes from popayan, the water is very hot, the climate is cold
It is a very nice place with a lot of people. It has beautiful surroundings. I recommend this place for couples. It is a nice place just to relax …. it is open 24 hours from Sunday to Sunday.
It can be very cold up there so bring clothes and a good towell. This is a rustic cabins, with lovely, natural pools. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for luxury, but more so if you want quiet relaxation in a beautiful location tucked away in the mountains.. We went for 2 days vacations, beautiful landscape, close to the Puracé volcano.

We went on a Wednesday thinking it would be quiet but forgot it was a Colombian public holiday so it was packed. Not much fun and in the end we didn’t go in the baths, we just had a nice coffee in the restaurant as more and more people kept arriving.

It is a small place where was only one big pool to use (the other big one was out of order) and a few small pools of which one has so hot water that human body can not handle it. We got mototaxis up to banos in 5-10 minutes and walked down in 45 minutes. You get some great views. In the banos they have a good selection of beers and other bottled drinks but no any fresh drinks. There are a lot of Columbian quests. Some of them were jumping in to the water which was not very nice for the fellow bathers... The Sauna is a natural sauna and not really warm. The bathrooms were clean and nice.

The drive/road and view to Termales Agua Hirviendo was great.
The place bellow average compared to other thermals visited in Colombia, but so was the price !!
The pools where somewhat small, with little water circulation and smelled bad, entry and egress from the pools was limited to one point per pool with no handholds and hard to see steps due to water been real cloudy(dirty).
There was hardly any adequate seating or shaded areas, hardly saw any staff and none of extras like mud bath where operational.
I would not recommend for elderly people because is not really accommodating and did not see any safety personnel !!.
Only spent a few hours there and about a week to get the smell out of our hair,we had to discard our bathing suits !! :(
