Genuinely one of my favourite places! Even if you’re not a reader it’s worth going just for the great food! Now with added yurt!!!

Second visit for us - we don't live nearby so a 2.5 hr drive for us and it was worth it.

Lovely range of books as usual, lush lunch and coffee at the cosy cafe and, had the weather been finer, we would have spent more time outside in the pretty courtyard garden.

I walk with the aid of a stick so I am most grateful there is the odd chair or perch scattered amongst the books to enable me to sit down and study the shelves when my legs and back are getting sore from standing.

I just wish I could transplant this place to Hampshire which seems to be a desert as far as places like this are concerned.

An unusual, quirky place which boasts a huge collection of books of various genres. Some of these seem to be nearly-new although still a little expensive for a second-hand offering, in my opinion.
We had cake and a hot drink in the cafe. Service was slow but our order was palatable, if somewhat overpriced for what it was.
However, I did not appreciate being approached in the car park by a young male member of staff upon arrival, and being told that I couldn’t park my car where it was due to it blocking the way (it wasn’t, otherwise I wouldn’t have parked there). When I pointed out that the car park was full (an issue that could be rectified by providing marked car park spaces which would encourage customers to park closer together), he huffily replied, “well, there’s not much I can do about that, is there?” and suggested that I park further down the track which forms the entrance “next to the bins.” I declined to do this, since I would’ve then been parked in a passing place, thus then obstructing others. After a short while, another customer left, so I was able to park in a space, however, I have now made my first and last visit to the book farm; a shame for a book-worm like myself, but a poor customer experience is hard to rectify, especially if you’re rude to patrons before they’ve even left their vehicles.
I get the impression that this place has been getting busier lately, but having now read some of the other reviews that have been left, perhaps customer service is an area for development.

We have been to the bookshop for lunch time and time again over a number of yrs - specifically for the beautiful ham salad sandwiches. When we went last summer they were only doing hot food - bacon sandwiches, sausage rolls, toasties etc. They said that they were only able to offer a reduced menu due to Covid. How disappointed were we today to find that they still offer only the reduced menu. Everywhere else we have been is now offering full menu service again, so not sure why they are not able to.

I really enjoyed my visit yesterday. Even though there were many visitors on the day the cafe staff did a fantastic job in providing us with great food and service under trying conditions. The staff were very friendly and organised and it must be difficult to deal with so many customers after being shut down due to covid restrictions.

I also love the extensive range of books on offer and managed to buy some books that I really wanted.

The garden area is also beautiful especially with the introduction of a Yurt which is beautifully set out.

Overall an excellent afternoon out. A well deserved 5/5 from me.

This place is my little haven.

The book barns themselves are so interesting to weave your way through, making sure to check out all the little hidden nooks and crannies. I always end up buying at least 3 books.

The cafe is amazing. The food is always so delicious and you get big portions. In the summer we often take a long walk to the book farm and spend ages sat outside in the courtyard surrounded by their flower pots.

Me and my husband love coming here with our children. Coffee shop is fabulous (gorgeous huge cakes!) and it’s always good to get a book or two while we’re there. My children love seeing the fluffy chickens outside the window!! Can’t wait to come back again.
