Lovely view! A lovely walk but!!!! Beware!! Beware the lady in the yellow wellies!!!!! She was so rude, accused us of littering... we sat quietly outside the local pub drinking a lovely cider from the pub! When she walked past saying "I guess this is your vape box as you are vaping!" I said no I'm sorry its not to then get a snarly re-mark well it smells like strawberry and the box says strawberry! Ours was blueberry 😂🙄 we won't be going back and il advise others don't it's a bit hostile

This review is for the cafe only. Not the gardens, of which I'm sure are lovely.
The venue has a small (but enjoyable) selection of cakes, and the coffee is nice, but the lunch menu, or rather the food itself leaves a LOT to be desired.
All food items are listed as 'comes with salad'. It doesn't. It comes with leaves, and that's leaves without any dressing. Just plain, tasteless leaves. For £10.50, it's overpriced.
What's more, the quiches (which are no doubt bought in) were all served cold - the question of 'would you like them warmed up' wasn't asked, so I assume that's not an option, not that microwaved quiche is all that desirable anyway...
Maybe suitable for coffee and cake, maybe the venue should refocus its efforts there. Haven't quite got the general lunch/food element figured out yet.
Staff were friendly, so can't fault them, and facilities were clean enough. Just let down by the lunch menu.

Had our second visit to this wonderful garden last week. What a stunning place. On our previous visit in early July we had been blown away by the herbaceous borders which were stunning. This time the long borders were more colourful than we expected but the circular beds area of gladioli and dahlias was spectacular. Worth a visit for that alone. Amazing as there is apparently only 1 full time and 1 part time gardener. A real credit to them.
The cafe area is also very nice and the cakes delicious. We will be back!!

I'm not sure how well known this garden is but it's an absolute treasure. Full of beautiful vistas and interesting plants, each area has something to delight the eye. It's also very well maintained. Buried away in the heart of the Cotswolds, it's well worth seeking out.

These gardens are pretty enough but they are on very steep slopes which you only find out once you have paid and been given a map. Even then the map just shows one steep slope but the reality is that the whole garden is a steep slope.

Very enjoyable walk around the gardens with interesting sculptures, not as many as last year though and one sculpture we couldn't find. The main office/shop was shut and it was difficult to find anyone to ask about where to pay. Payment is taken in the cafe which seems very disorganised as some people were wandering straight to the actual garden gate and then noticing a sign asking for payment in the cafe.
Price was £9 for all, no concessions.
More sculptures could be found in the village hall which was free entry.
The food in the caravan was very expensive, £5 for a vegan sausage roll.
No dogs are allowed so just wondering why lots of people brought their dogs with them. However the dogs belonging to the house were allowed out onto the main lawn.
All I all we had a very enjoyable visit as the flower beds were pretty and varied and the sculptures were interesting.

Wonderful gardens with some amazing sections that draw the eye. Built by the WD & HO Wills (Tobacco) family, there is lots of variation across these mainly formal gardens, and it is a joy to explore. We particularly like the Luychens Steps to the side of the main lawn. The manor house is privately-owned and closed to the public but you can admire it from the garden. There is plenty of car-parking and it is well signed.

The approach to the village of Miserden is an uplifting experience. It has the air of a distinguished Cotswold village, a village hall, school and a pub all fitting into the picture postcard Cotswold stone appearance of a distinguished estate. The villager’s cottages seem of a larger proportion than those seen elsewhere, and the cars parked here and there look to be predominantly 4WD. It is surprising to be informed that the village is some 800 feet above the River Frome below, and this fact has influence upon the purpose of our visit, The Garden at Miserden which is open to the public.
A lack of signposting led us to park in what must be the overflow car park as we crossed the walled car park to the entry. Again it was unclear where we should gain entrance, where were the loos, where was the newly fitted cafe in which we planned lunch? The shop was closed. A forest of greenhouses led to the cafe, sited in the uppermost greenhouse where we received a warm welcome and ordered lunch. We were told that the shop was closed due to staff shortage and temporarily entry and payment is made in the cafe, some distance from the car park. Entry to the cafe may be difficult for the lesser able.
We were the only customers having lunch, a cheese ploughman’s and the biggest and most meaty sausage roll that I had ever eaten! It was excellent, but where was the garden? We were directed to return towards the closed shop and then walk around the closed pop up food trailer, and we found a splendid ironwork gate. A sloping path led down towards the main house below that is not open to the public. We discovered a delightful border and well trimmed yew hedging leading a way to the house sheltering below. A number of rare trees and plants are well planted. I was unable to access the lower garden because of the steep pathway for return. An extensive use of Cotswold gravel pathways would make passage for buggies, prams and wheelchairs difficult and the old pathways were quite uneven. This is a garden for the determined garden aficionado and I probably did not see the best bits and in particular the work of Lutyens on the east wing of the house.

The gardens were beautiful. The setting was relaxing and the spring flowers in bloom. There is a beautiful walled garden. We enjoyed coffee and a cake at the cafe. Very nice! I highly recommend visiting.
