Not your typical Germany

Being from the UK and having tons of beautiful coastline,to pay to see bog standard beaches and bland fields is ridiculous. I appreciate the german coast is not pretty in most places but this is stupid!

First of all you need to park 2km away and walk or take a shuttle bus. Then, unless you are interested in the museum, which i did not see(dogs not allowed in) but could be interesting, the entrance fee is high for not seeing a lot. So if you go take the path down on the right hand side of... More

These cliffs look more tropical than at the nothernmost island of Germany. The Chalk clifs are beautiful but can only be seen from above at the National Park. There are a few paths down and going down to walk on the beach is worthwhile, but technically not part of the normal trails. They can also be seen from the sea... More

The Kreidefelsen cliffs are a must see in the area. However, you will only get a good view of them from the sea. So I highly recommend taking a boat trip from Sassnitz harbour, which takes about 90 minutes. If you want to visit Königsstuhl, it's not accessible by car and you will have a 3 km walk through the... We visited here and arrived on the public bus that took us all the way to the car park at the visitor centre. We didn't go into the visitor centre, but rather took the walking track to the Victoria look-out and two other look-outs on the way. The views of the cliffs are great. As mentioned by another reviewer, the... More

We went on a Sunday afternoon, but the trails were not too crowded. See the review by "nealz" or "dgjohansson" for the explanation of how to get to view the cliffs without entering the expensive documentation center. However, note that as of July 10th, 2016 the trail down to the beach was closed. You can still get a view of... More

Very beautiful landscape. Make sure you go there on a sunny day as most of the coast will get so white in the sun that you think you are in a fairytale like surrounding. Awesome!

This is only about the Köningstuhl. The rest of the Kreidefelsen I'll leave to others since I only had time to see the Köningstuhl. They sure knows how to get you money - seeing the "stuhl" in a limited amount of time will cost you. There is a parking at a place called Hagen (parking fee) from where buses (bus... More

For sea- and hiking-lovers it's a must! Be prepared that it's verrrry windy, though. You can park your car nearby, there's also public bus service and taking a walk from Sassnitz or Lohme is also doable.
