Achill Island and the Titanic Memorial Full Day Private Tour from Galway

1 review
If you love to immerse yourself in beautiful scenery and prefer a personalized private tour, then come and join me for a day trip on the beautiful Achill Island. Let it be a journey to rest your mind and nourish your soul. Scenic walks can be included if you prefer walking to driving.

Depending on the length of the day and on your “exploration mode”, my little addition to the current trip would be visiting Ireland’s own Titanic Village and Titanic Memorial Park in Lahardaun in County Mayo.

If you wish to enhance your visual experience while on the journey, there is an option to listen to the haunting contemporary Irish music by Seán Ó Riada, Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, Patrick Cassidy and many more.

I’m driving a Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid 2017, with very comfortable seating for up to three people. I can stop any time at your request.

Beautiful beach to walk along when the tide is either out, going out or coming in. When the tide is in there is no beach left but there are sand dunes to sit beside. It is pure sand and so clean. It seems very popular with surfers too.

This is a very popular extensive beach, 4km (2.5 miles) in length, that connects the village of Keel with Dookinelly in Achill Island and formig part of the Wild Atlantic Way, with a bridge linking it to mainland Mayo. We enjoyed the fresh air (lots of that!), a relaxing walk along the white sand and combing the beach for the multicoloured stones, and interesting seahells. This beach is very popular with surfers and there are seasonal lifeguards and a nearby campsite. However, swimming only safe at the western (Keel) end of Trawmore due to undersea currents. A barrier of rocks and shingle thrown onshore during storms lkes at the back of the beach separating it the from the area of flat ground, which includes the Achill Golf Club and campsite. There are fantastic views of the Minuan Cliffs at the eastern end of the strand that provide a reposing break from a fitful world.

The place to connect with yourself and the wondrous natural beauty of this island. Walking Keel beach is nature’s best medicine. Staying at The Bervie looks right onto the sea. Breathing in the sea air and letting the waves rock me to sleep.

Perhaps one of the most romantic locations I’ve ever been- the cliff views, the wild Atlantic Ocean, the soft white sand and the waves!! Stunning spot! Don’t miss it!
