This was a highlight of our visit to Italy. The history of paper was extensive and informative, but the best part was the live demonstration exactly as it was done eight hundred years ago. Very highly recommended!

Been there multiple times. The staff and guides are very professional and made the experience an overwhelming enjoyable event. Interesting how Paper was created centuries ago! Very high quality paper.

A great history of paper making from China 100 BC to Italy 1300’s and up to modern times. It has working machinery from the 18th century, and demonstration of early hand made methods of making paper from rags. There are many exhibits of ancient papers...More

Museo della Carta a Fabriano is a great opportunity for learning how paper was made since ancient times. The fun part is making your own sheet of paper and taking home a piece of hand made paper with Fabriano watermark!

We loved this museum, a very reasonably priced guided tour of the history of papermaking and watermarks in Fabriano from the middle ages on. Downtown Fabriano is also totally charming, just a short walk away, and right outside the museum is a big playground /park...More

Museum explains the origins of paper and watermarks. Fabriano was an important place in this regard. Take your time. The guided tour in Italian took two hours. Entrance fee quite high, 10 euro pp.
