Away off the beaten track this site has some very beautiful mosaics which are very much worth seeing. There is no admission fee

Impressive in age and some lovely mosaics but altogether a rather uninspiring attraction. There were no other visitors when we went and I would think Taormina in the north east of the island would be a better option.

This is a Roman villa with a small, but fine collection of mosaics. You can also look at the foundations/ruins of the place, in some cases by looking through the grills you are walking on. Not much explanation in English, but well worth a half...More

Although much smaller than Villa del Casale, this site is quiet and simple. It also has a snack bar about 200m down the road that has seating for about 100. Classes of school children were touring while we were there; and they brought good energy...More

Nothing more to see than the mosaiques, but these are amazing. Very big and almost completely restored. And the entrance is free.

Couldn't believe the quality of the tesara, you need to allow a good couple of hours for your visit.

Small, and relatively recently discovered villa that was virtually destroyed by fire in the 4th century. Nothing like on the scale of Villa Romana at Piazza Armerina (famous for the 'bikini girls') but nonetheless not without interest. Lot of work has been undertaken to excavate...More

Not to be compared with the grand Villa Romana del Casale, Villa Romana del Tellaro is a small (1/20th the size of Casale), intimate and often quiet Roman Villa site featuring Roman floor mosaics and serving primarily as a ‘learning center’. It has programs for...More

This is a very small visit -- only 3 mosaics, maybe one-twentieth of the Villa del Casale, but well worth the trip. The lighting is very good and you can really see the mosaics very well, with little tourist group pressure as this is not...More

This is a well preserved villa from a Roman emperor or such saved because it had been buried under mud for hundreds of years. Now in restoration, every floor has amazing depictions of animals, flowers, people. The best mosaic is the one of the 10...More
