Obviously where the tale of the sword in the stone arose. Very quiet and serene church. Worth a walk around the abbey and in the woods before hand. Dan Brown should visit some time as definitely a feel of the Knights Templar here

Sword encased by San Galgano that was a knight from Chiusdino. He embedded his own sword as a symbol of peace to definitely give up arms and begin a new life in faith as a hermit at Hermitage of Monte Siepi.
