Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not as it was
After a couple of covid years we were finally able to come back to Tuscany and Castello di Gabbiano.
But what used to be a warm, inviting soul space where we would always be welcome for a chat in the manager’s office, many times even later in the evening, is now a place with closed door. Barbara, the new manager does not seem to like customers around when in the castle; though she does not seem to be there often. Mostly you can just find Raisa in the office who is always ready to help.
The room was clean as always, the quality of the breakfast is not the same anymore and the restaurant has a more international menu with much higher pricing, too high for the quality and offer.

Extremly bad experience in the wine tasting. The blond waiter was so rude and aggressive.
She started to scream for no reason just because she choose the wine for me even though i wanted to try something else.
I was going to buy around 10 bottles as gifts for family and friends, but with her bad attitude she made me not buy! And also ruined the whole experience for me!!! The least I can say it was unfortunately a sad tasting experience!
She was just rushing us to leave! And her excuse was that she has more guests! The problem with that is there wore only 2 other people there with us!!!
Extremely bad tasting and extremely bad attitude, I have never felt unwelcome like this ever before in my whole life!
In my humble opinion the owner should fire her just because she was raciest and thought for some strange reason she is better than me for the color of her skin! We are in 2018! WTH. Such a shame. Very disappointed

Stayed for two nights here over the course of our 10 day Italy trip. Impressive, breath taking views. Exceptional food at the restaurant. Immaculate, very large rooms. Take an hour to take one of the tours they offer at 11AM or 3PM - you learn about the history of the castle, the wine making, go into the cellars and do a wine tasting with olive oil and vinegar all made here, free or charge! Small free breakfast, but you can order eggs if you need to. A must do/see if you have the time!

Gabbiano is probably more stunning than its famous antinori neighbor. It sits on a hilltop with 360 degree views of stunning landscape. Taste the wine, eat at the super and beautiful restaurant, or just wander around a bit for the views. Really notbto be missed.

we called in just because we were passing and walked around, bought a bottle of their wine and took photos of the building and surrounding countryside.

My family and I stayed at one of the apartments at Castello di Gabbiano in mid-October. We absolutely LOVED every second of our stay. Cornelia and Raisa were very responsive to the questions we had before our trip, and very welcoming once we arrived. The castle and grounds are so beautiful, I think we took a photo every time we stepped outside. It was the perfect destination to drink some of their delicious wine (we had a private tour and wine tasting) and relax in the picturesque countryside. The restaurant on site is excellent! We also took the amazing cooking class with Chef Francesco, and loved it! He was so patient in teaching us how to make fresh pasta! The location is perfect for visiting nearby cities in the area (it's a quick drive to Siena, San Gimignano, and Greve/Montefioralle.) Overall, I loved our stay and didn't want to leave! I hope to come back to stay at Castello di Gabbiano soon! Thank you!

I got "pleasantly lost" among these wonderful hills and rows of vineyards as far as the eye can see until I reached this castle perfectly integrated into the territory. It was not possible to visit it but still nice experience for the eyes!
