Beautiful little chapel in an amazing spot. Glass fronted so you can see in, so no worries about opening times. Very interesting history. .Place to bring and light your own candle, sun sparkling all around and a swim-by from a pod of dolphins , what more can you ask for !

Lovely peaceful area in low season. Has a picturesque chapel perched on a cliff top jutting out into the sea. A nice cliff top walk with beautiful views. Large secluded beach only accessed by a small tunnel or steep staircase but worth the effort it really is a nice beach. Not much in the way of shops and cafes in the area.

This is one of the larger beach coves in the area. Located at the top of the beach is the Vilarinho Restaurant.

Peaceful and Tranquil.

This is an old chapel that was once part of the Fort that was destroyed in the earthquake. Not worth a special visit but if you are passing anyway you could have a look for the views of the two beaches next to it.

Visited Senhora da Rocha in January 2015 and found it was being partially fenced off because of cliff falls. The right hand side of the wall on the approach to the Chapel is cracked. We still managed to walk around the outside of the building. Looking at the cliff the Chapel is on it looks like part of it may break away in future years. Perhaps it might have some preservation work done to prevent this. Work is also in progress making wooden fencing along the top of the cliffs as a safety measure. To the right, access is still possible to the beach down some steps. We walked further along the top of the cliffs, and down to another secluded beach. We eventually were able to do a circular walk back to the car park.
There are cafes and restaurants and hotels nearby for refreshments if you want to spend some time there. Many apartments in the locality too. Also, an outside swimming pool with childrens
facilities nearby. To the left you will also find a fishermans beach where they do boat trips to caves in the summer and there is a beach restaurant there.

This was, for me, the main reason of our recent trip to Porches.....first viewed this little chapel 15 years ago.......when it wasn't tidied up like it is now and for me it was then much better and more natural. The views are spectacular.

Even now, 15 years later, it is well worth a visit....but remember to take your camera!

The old fisherman's chapel is a must see, you are so close it would be a shame not to make a quick stop. If you have more time the bar nearby is a great place for a sangria stop! Yum!!

What a location, two stunning beaches. This has to be one of the best kept secret locations in Europe. First class fishing cove plus a secluded beach where you walk through a tunnel to gain access. The views are amazing and two superb fish restaurants are ideally located with typical Portuguese menus.

This little chapel atop the cliff is a gorgeous little spot. It was super quiet in November with just myself and my partner up there for most of our visit. The church wasn’t open but we walked the grounds and looked peered through the chapel gate. Beautiful stop to check out. Great views. Great photo opportunities.
