Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Firstly I would like to say the planning, equipment and actual dive site was tremendous. For me, what let it down was a feeling of ‘not being included’ in the general experience. I booked the two wreck dives, I am not cognisant of Nitrox currently and was advised the couple I was diving with were Nitrox so I would of course have to watch my air intake. I did feel the reception was professional but lacking in much warmth. I was diving solo, I think the couple were regulars and were very chatty with the guide diver, no one spoke to me at all on the way to the dive site. I felt quite left out. I did unfortunately mess up on my bottom time resulting in a wait of 15 mins at 5 metres.. completely my fault due to poor vis within the first wreck. On returning to the boat, the dive master was clearly cross with me and rather than taking me to one side to discuss the matter, he shouted that it wasn’t safe for me to do the second dive. I felt pretty dreadful about it, after appropriate surface time, he and the couple kitted up and went off for the second dive. Not a further word to me. I sat in the boat. They returned, de-kitted, and we retuned to shore. So in short, would I go back? No. I would use a different company.

Our adult family learned how to dive and received our open water certification at Subnauta this past August. Hugo was our expert instructor - he was thoughtful, thorough and attentive. Subnauta is very professional - they have a great balance of being well organized and fun. We learned skills in their small swimming pool and did four dives with them in the open ocean. We were happy to warm up in their shower rooms after. Thank you for our training!

The most professional diving centre I have been to.
Very well organised, great services (nice showers), great people. Our instructor Hugo was very fun and diligent.

Great duty of care for new divers.

Well done and keep it guys! Would recommend to anyone

Just Wow!

Here is an incredible passion to feel and is passed on to the guests with each dive.

You are the perfect contact persons for a smooth entry into technical diving.

Absolutely flawless equipment, extensive dive planning and secure implementation of all dives make the experience with you to a awesome dream.

After 1300 dives you have already meant a lot of wonderful seen, but with you, much else will be put into the shade with ease.

Keep your attention and your cheerfulness, but above all your passion and creates further experiences underwater. An unforgettable time! Thanks a lot!

After diving with Subnauta in 2019, I returned in July and August 202 and can now say I did a total of 12 dives with them. First of all, the rental gear is of amazing quality and the staff is lovely (thank you Renato, Paulo, Scoty & co.) I’ve seen average an perfect conditions but I’m still not bored al will definitely return. Great dive center with all the comfort you need and offers standard nitrox for the wreck dives to give you extra bottom time. In one word: I’ll come back again again and again and I can not recommend this dive center more! See you in October guys!

Relaxed from start to finish! Clear briefing! Nice service interval snack and drinks. The captain even played some great music. Hot shower after the dive was great! Thanks Renato and crew.

From the booking process onwards subnauta excelled. Nothing was too much trouble.
On arrival our kit was already set up and ready for us. All well maintained equipment. Nitrox was tested in front of us and wet suits issued. Into the changing rooms, with individual lockers, to change. Next up very thorough briefing including 3d images of the wrecks. By the end of the briefing the kit had been loaded and was en route to the 22mtr rib. We followed on the electric buggy for the 5 minute transfer to the marina.
A full boat briefing followed for the very well set out rib. Bench seating across the rib allowing for lots of room for kitting up. 15mins later we are at the dive site. The dives were fantastic and expertly guided. Back onto the rib via the large ladder. The rest between dives made very comfortable due to the large rib. Lunch box provided along with tea, coffee and water. As we get up to change the cylinders over we are told to sit down and relax. "You are on holiday". The staff change the kit for us before the 2nd dive. Another fantastic dive completed we return to port. The same attitude to the unloading is enforced and we leave the team to unload as we are whisked away to the centre for our large luxury individual showers with towels provided.
The level of service provided is far and away the best we have received throughout all the diving we have done. The ethos is one of you are on holiday so why would you lump stuff around?
Top centre, top people, top equipment. Will be back.

I did 2 days diving with subnauta and i must say i was impressed by the level of service by the staff they do everything for you from putting gear on the boat changing cylinder between dives and taking gear back to shop and washing kit. Then the changing room with nice clean showers and towels provided and lockers for your valuables when away on the boat. The only downside was the coffee cup on the boat was a bit small but the snack was good and all included. The diving was good but the vis wasn’t the best as storm lorenzo had just past would recommend this center to anyone looking to dive the algarve.

I've dove all over the world and found this group to be one of the most professional outfits anywhere. They are very safe, knowledgable, and friendly. The equipment was excellent and they have a really nice dive shop with big, clean, hot showers. They are easy to find right near the Praia da Rocha. The Ocean Revival wrecks are not to be missed and these guys are great to dive it with.

After doing my OW, AOW, Nitrox & Deep40 in Thailand (all at the same Dive shop) I wanted to try diving on my next holiday in the Algarve. Though I expected the vis to be low (which it was) I had actually a great time diving there! The ships wrecks are really cool. Not so much fish though (compared to Thailand- depends on what you’re used too) and expect to get cold... I received a brand new 7mm semi drysuit (excellent!) but had luckily a suit to wear underneath and layer. So if you have a rashguard of some sorts I would advice to bring it. All the gear and material was serviced for you. Felt like a princess. I could just enjoy the boat trip and not worry about a thing. I dove with experienced divers only (you cannot do the dives if not AOW). The only downside was that the groups were quite big (about 5 people for 1 dive leader) which sometimes made it hard with the vis since everybody was wearing the same black wetsuits. I only have 20+ dives so compared to the others I was less experienced but no one noticed so that was nice too. They help you gear up and get out of the gear. After the dives you get coffee or thee and a lunch pack (sandwich water and muffin). If you like to drink more, make sure you bring your own water. You go on a zodiac so there are no toilets on board.
Except for being cold and having low vis it was a great experience and overall diving was very nice there! Better than expected. We were also the only dive boat there so no one to be seen / no heavy crowds which made the use of an SMB not necessary. I did go up early on the second dive because of the cold (so if you’re more comfortable having an SMB for those ascents, try and bring your own, not sure if it can be rented). The dive leader then leads you back to the ascent line and let you go up by yourself and then take the rest of the group out diving a little longer. So even if you are a big group, you won’t have to worry going up if one of your buddies is low on air. Nitrox was included in the dive if you’re certified. They ask for all of this so very professional. Not cheap but for the service you get the price is really fair! Thank you, I hope to be back some day.
