Sadly the southern slopes have been sold off for villas and the space between them is used to dump refuse so the approaches are rubbish literally and metophorically.

The approach is not very scenic, but once inside the crater, it is quite magical. It's also fun to see all the words laid out in rocks over the years. Note that it can get pretty windy up there along one side of the crater.
Beautiful scenery and views from the top of Playa Blanca and over to Logos Island Fuertuventura. You can walk down into volcano bowl and we were lucky enough to see the Kestrel Hawk fly right by us..was fab.
