If you visit Edirne, you must also visit this region for several reasons. Visit the old train station, orient express train, have a rest in the nearby cafes, drink a cup of coffee, see the university building and take a deep breath making you feel "independent".

This place is the prove that Kaaragac lived days of glory. Great history and very nice renovation from the university. The idea only that the famous orient express was passing from there and the opportunity to take a photo of this kind of train are good reasons to stop for half hour before you go to Edirne

Do not miss the statue of Mr. İnönü and the monument. The reason the place is in Turkey is the lozan statement signed by İsmet İnönü at the end of the Turkish Civil War

Both sides of my family emigrated to Turkey in the 50s and 70s. Therefore, the train station has significance for me. Even if, it didn't, it's still a must see in Edirne. Karaagac distrcit of Edirne is different than the rest of the city. With it's small cafes, old houses and friendly people, it has a small town charm. This... More

Go there by Roma horse and cart, but bargain the price first! The road goes over 2 old bridges, one of them dsigned by Mimar Sinan. On the outskirts of the village, the old railway station has been converted into a faculty of the Trakya University. Nearby, the old railway offices have become a small museum, containing copies of the... More

This building is in Trakya University Karaağaç Campus and now it's "Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi". When you enter to the campus you will see this large building. There is a cafe next to it while going to Lausanne monument. Also there is a non-working train there for display purposes. Behind of the building is plainer than the front and worth looking....
