Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the areas that have historical and tourist importance in Şanlıurfa is the
Maqam of Hz. Eyyüp Prophet within the lands of Eyüpnebi neighborhood and giving the
name to the three neighborhoods of the city. This area which consists of a cave in which
Hz. Eyyüp Prophet suffered and a well which consists of health water is also accepted as
divine in the period of Syriac Christians. As a result of this belief, a hospital was
constructed here

Please read the Old Testament about the punishment of Job before you visit his cave where Job hided himself for 7 years. Jobs' story is a key lecture in medical anthropology to understand humans search for a meaning (purpose) to explains his suffering from disease or accidents.
You may drink holy fountain water to cure illness next to his cave. Watch the pilgrims attitudes in this holy place.

We visited this place on our way to Göbekli Tepe. Our guide told us a lot of things. There is a holy cave which can be approached from outside and the mosque which is really worth a visit as it is amazing. You can also drink from holy water at the side walls and can see an ancient well which is charming. If you have some days in Urfa you should visit the place.

If you are going to Hsrran or GobekliTepe this is right on the way and well worth a stop for monotheists. It doesn’t take long, though there was a line when I was there. The line moved quickly. If you have time, sit in the courtyard and watch the people for awhile. You’ll see a lot.

Water from the well is available, and totally free, from several spigots on the wall. If you want to take some water with you, there’s a guy selling water bottles near where you go into the cave. I don’t remember what I paid but it was not a rip-off. Cheap.

The entrance to the cave is a narrow stairwell. Not much to see, really. But, if you have an interest you won’t want to miss it. It’s on the way, after all.

We were greeted with great friendliness by the local people and enjoyed tea with them. However, unless you are on a religious pilgrimage or traveling nearby, this sight might not be worth your while. We were traveling nearby and were glad we visited.

This is a pretty crowded place but an interesting visit for those interested in the life of Job, who suffered greatly and was proved by God to be a man of honour in the midst of the worst trials. There is a garden, and you need to line up to enter the cave. If you are in the region, it's worth a stop by, but there are other attractions which are probably more interesting in the region.

I think there is always a crowd here. Be patient and take the chance to go into the cave. There is also plenty of shade when it's hot.

Set in leafy surroundings, this is a quiet and contemplative place like many of the pilgrimage sites kept so well in the town.

The sanctuary of tomb, with a sort of a subterrean cave and a well, is located a bit further away from the city. You can see women in brown & violet dresses pilgrimaging there. People on the way were very friendly, inviting me for a cup of coffee when seeing me passing buy so many times that I had to start refusing to finally get there.

There's not that much to see there, though.

Some people say that Urfa was the old Sumerian Ur. I don't think so, but anyhow, many sites in this city are related to the Old Testament: Abraham's Tomb, St Job Tomb a.o. Anyway, these places have a very fairytale atmosphere and are well worth visiting. Here you can go inside the tomb of the prophet...
