The bay is lined with beautiful, clean and soft sand beaches. The ocean is clean and warm (we visited in March), but be careful of the strong current and rips.

think long beaches, good surf, cliffs with extra long views and the famous Cathedral Cove to enjoy. A bit windy but Captain Cook loved it.

We have been to Mercury Bay before, but by land. Now son-in-law has got a boat. A great day or two cruising around this beautiful bay, with lovely beaches for swimming and barbecues. Scenic. And good fishing.

This has to be one of the most beautiful parts of nz. Gorgeous beaches and expanse of blue ocean. Heaps of water sports to do. Fishing is huge here. Great cafes and restaurants and plenty of accom options. Very warm and friendly locals.

Splash out a bit of coin on a boat cruise around the coast. You won't be disappointed. So much to see your camera will run hot.

What I thought New Zealand would be like. Massive closed bay with islands dotted in the distance, reminded me of krabbi in Thailand only different
