Surf beach awesome, even for the newby surfer safe. Nice little seaside place with little trendy cafe on beachfront. White sands and pleasure to get away from the bustling city life . This is the original kiwi lifestyle holiday location.

This is well worth the detour from the main road. The beach has sand, shells and is wide and flat. Perfect for a long walk and for children to play and swim. Beautiful scenery.

We had few days in Waihi beach. Beach is very nice and as we were in beginning of December there was not so many turists. As beach is very long you will find your own spot always.

We rented a house along the beach for 4 nights as a base for our trip in NZ. Although the beach and the house are lovely, it would be more suited for those who just want to plonk themselves at the beach house and enjoy...More

Waihi Beach is what I would call an "all purpose and all weather beach." It is "user friendly," and extends to Bowentown.. .Many popular points of access with parking. Wheelchair access can be found most places. Popular with families with children, cyclists, runners, the odd...More

We love coming to this beach, especially during the off season when it is quieter, but that's just us. The Pohutukawa when in flower in summer brings this beauty to another level, and when surfs up the vivid blue waters make the perfect backdrop to...More
