The track is short, but the tease of it being just another corner away is deceptive. The end though, is absolutely worth the walk, and the excitement builds when you reach the lookout

Wow! What a walk - not very hard or challenging but the views and sights are breath taking. This is an absolute must see of New Zealand - the drive to the car park is also amazing.

This walk is easy peasy compare to some other walks in NZ is this one easy and with a great view of the mount cook, also the glacier ice blocks in the water are a stunning effect!

Was a great walk with phenomenal views. We did the entire walk and would highly recommend to all. Track was covered in ice and snow (late June), so appropriate shoes are needed. Suspension bridges were a highlight.

I knew late May was at the end of New Zealand's autumn, but I didn't expect there to be snow and ice that far down the mountains. What I would describe as an easy 3 hour hike in the spring/summer turned into a 4+ hour...More

We did this walk with our active 4.5 -year old. It is a 10km round trip but he walked most of it on his own with a piggy back from dad here and there! The track is absolutely magnificent - we saw glaciers on the...More

The walk is relatively easy. Mostly on flat levels. But the sights are incredible. We did the walk up till the hooker lake and back. Took us around 2.5 hrs, including some stops to take photos and finally enjoying the stunning view of the hooker...More

The Hooker Valley Track is mostly flat and has fantastic views, making it the best bang-for-buck walk in the area. You get a range of views during the walk, with an excellent view of Mt Cook over Hooker Lake at the end of the track....More

A must do when visiting Mt Cook! It’s a 45 minute walk (suggested, it took us about 25 in the end) from the Hermitage Hotel and even from there the view is spectacular. The suspension bridges are high but if you walk in the same...More

It is a little steep in some places,so slipping and gracelessly falling is to be expected. We were there at the end of May and half of the trail was 2 inches thick sheets of ice. (See my review that has pics of it). Dress... More

Hi ani - it’s a fairly flat track - small undulations rather than a steep climb. With walking boots and gravel paths you should get a firm grip even if the path is snow covered or icy. You can dress for the cold. However... More
