Llyn Brenig Visitor Centre hosts a welcoming cafe with home made cakes and hot food. The Centre also runs a bike hire facility to help visitors explore the extensive track network around the lake. Permits can be bought for fly fishing on the lake, and also to hire fishing boats. The lake is stocked with trout reared on the Llyn Brenig fish farm. Picnic tables and an adventure playground are also available to use.

Note that the postcode for the area is large and using a Sat Nav may bring you to the Alwen reservoir, not Llyn Brenig. However, there are frequent brown road signs to help you find Llyn Brenig.

Wrap up warm! Blows a right wind over the dam. Lovely walk, was quite boggy in places due to the rain so wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Pay and display parking, machine was playing up but the ranger on site was very helpful, found him in the tackle shop. Fishing and water sports available.

Often pop to the Brenig for a walk. Just under 10 miles all the way around, with only one small steep bit, so easy walking for anyone with basic fitness and comfy shoes. As a treat for Valentine's Day, treated my partner to lunch in the Cafe. Very Nice. Average price, and food was very tasty. Cakes are baked by... More

The cafe restaurant used to be very good but the quality has dropped recently. As a local frequent visitor (who doesn't want to make a fuss in the cafe) please take a bit more care and restore the quality. I was served stale barabrith recently - I know this because it fell apart and was bone dry rather than moist... More

Have been coming here since childhood and now bring my own son and friends here to enjoy the reservoir and open space. Had a great day cycling around the lake and many thanks to ranger Rob for helping to fix my wife's bike!!! Looking forward to many more fantastic days around the reservoir in the future.

Our car had a flat tyre on the top road leading to llyn brenig and we had a hospital appointment to attend, not only did this wonderful team of people come to our rescue and help change the tyre. They called the hospital to say we were on our way but delayed. It is a beautiful calm oasis set beside... More

First time fishing Brenig for Pike but it would have been rude not to have breakfast prior to starting. With a fishermans breakfast and a cappuccino polished off it was a full day exploring the lake by boat. A wonderful place with very helpful staff. Role on next year

Had a problem with my bike chain when cycling near here. They kindly fixed it for me so I could get home. Thanks Jim and the boys. Should also mention it is a great location for riding round either Brenig or Alwen. You must stop in the cafe for their lovely cakes.
