Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited on May 9, 2024. The Peony Exhibition, which is scheduled to be held from April 16 to 30, 2024, has already ended, and it is still too early for the Iris Exhibition, which is scheduled to be held from May 25 to June 2, 2024, so I was unable to enjoy the flowers. On the other hand, I learned during this visit that a curved stream (see attached photo) is carved into the Chinese-style building [Ryuubai-tei (a gift from Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, China, Sakai's sister city)] in the park. Since I visited on a weekday, there was no water running, but when I asked the staff, they told me that water is run through this stream on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and that the face of Son Goku is the motif of this stream. If you are interested, I recommend visiting on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Also, at the rest house, you can enjoy matcha drinks and Rikyu mochi (menu supervised by Tsuboichi Tea Shop, see attached photo) for a fee, so if you have time, why not give it a try?

This is the best garden we had come across. Well maintained, peaceful and photo worthy from almost all angles.
The entry fee is Y200. We also had green tea with sweets (Y300) while enjoying the tranquil scenery which really left us awestruck. It is off the beaten track and there were not many tourists. We were able to take poster-like photos. There were 2 couples taking bridal photos. We spent 2 hours exploring the garden.

Easy to find on city map. Great to visit if you are riding a bicycle. Nice to see this is where a lot of locals go to relax and just hang out. Park was well laid out and is larger than I expected.

I don't know why, this beautiful garden was not in my visit list in Osaka. In fact, it is the best Japanese Garden I've ever visited and it should be at top 10 most visited place in Japan. We went there when the autumn color at its peak. It so beautiful and gave us the real Japanese garden touch.
This garden is actually inside of the huge Daisen garden where cherry trees will show its beautiful Sakura flower sometime in April. I can't imagine how beautiful it is, since so many cherry trees in the garden. Definitely it will be my target place for next Japan trip on cherrt blossom period !

The garden was not too large, only took me about 1 hour to finish. However, it was one the most beautiful ones in Japan I had ever visited. I loved it!

This Japanese garden is not busy. You can stroll around pond very leisurely. And photo shooting for the wedding is doing often. So you have a chance to see wedding couple who are wearing traditional wedding Kimono.

This "kofun" is one of 40-odd giant tumuli (monumental burial sites) of hundreds, maybe thousands, that were scattered across archaic Japan (from the so-called "Wa" era, as the ancient Chinese called the kingdom of Japan then). It is compared to the great pyramids in scale. Today the giant mound is forested, but originally its different layers were covered with stones and on its terraces were hundreds of clay haniwa figures (fragments of which are in the museum). The central sarcophagus I believe has never been excavated. The massive sarcophagus of one retainer is represented in the museum, along with armor, weapons, etc. You can find aerial views of the entire "keyhole" shaped kofun online. The surrounding park is good for walks, etc.

Daisen Park may not be at top sightseeing spot for tourist. I found it by chance while searching for less crowded sightseeing places. Glad that I found and went there instead of Osaka Castle which I had visited before. The Japanese Garden inside Daisen Park is beautiful, it certainly worth the small admission fee.

This garden is inside the Daisen Park which is adjacent to several "KEYHOLE" shaped ancient Imperial Burial Grounds dating back to the 5th century Emperor Nintoku. There is a great cafe close to the station that is reasonably priced under 1200 yen per person!

The Japanese Garden is a must place to visit if you are in Sakai. It comes with very fresh air and it's surrounded with a very nice view during autumn season. They served me with green tea and the Japanese sweets in the Japanese Garden. From this event, I managed to experience the culture of Japanese by trying them, also it's a nice place to feel the real Japanese atmosphere.
