Nice beach with some area's where there is shadow but just a little. If you are not here for surfing you need to be early to find a shadow spot

If I had not traveled to many other beach towns along the Nicoya Peninsula first, I likely would have given a slightly better rating but I thought the vibe here was a buzzkill. The average American raves about Nosara and I can see why - you feel just like you are at home in America. I spent a just under... More

This is a great surfing or boogie boarding beach. That said, not the best for swimming unless you don't mind getting pounded by waves as the sets are solid all day long here. We laid out here and walked on this beautiful beach many times on our trip. It's a very pretty place to relax and kick back. There are... More

The town has a nice atmosphere. Friendly people, clean. Good surfing $20 a day surf board hire available. The beach is also lovely for walks and sun set over the water.

During our 8 days in Nosara, we walked this beach daily. Folks jogged, bicycled, surfed, and walked at sunrise. People gather nightly to watch these gorgeous sunsets. We even came out one night to view the stars. There are tide pools for watching sea critters washed up in the tide. Not surfers ourselves, we enjoyed watching the many surfers enjoy... More

We ended up at Nosara Beach during a kyaking tour with Experience Nosara. There are no buildings to be found, only beautiful beaches and the Pacific Ocean. We were there in January and the water was warm so we went in. Just a relaxing experience. There were a few people around who were surfing.

The beach--by Costa Rican standards--is very average. There are no trees for any kind of cover and a few flies when there is no wind. There are a few small bungalow type shelters but there's room only for a few people or one family. Yes, the tide pools are nice but it's nothing spectacular. The sand isn't as fine as... More
