Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Total tourist hotspot. If you travel to this idyll organized and packaged by a large ship 🚢, a thousand people are spat out at the same time and attack this wonderful bay. No way with an agency and the big barge. It's a cry.

We took a bus Check-out from Rethymno to take the boat to Kissamos and some sailing to get to Gramvousa Island. This island is beautiful, we take more eyes, transparent waters with a magnificent view from the fortress. Day of dreams ...

It is the most beautiful peak lagoon in my eyes. Arriving by the track there is a small walk to do with a steep drop and stairs but the view is magnificent. The water is translucent, the beach sheltered from the wind and a goat came to brighten up our moment.

I actually really liked this beach and preferred it over balos. The water was warmed, good mix of shallow and little deeper, smaller and more private as it was only our boat there. Wish the boat would’ve stayed here more than 1.5 hours. There were a bunch of ants on the beach in various parts which was annoying, but the water was great

Probably one of the most beautiful and easy trips you can do in Crete. The beach is stunning and the trip to the fortress is worth the steep climb

We arrived in August on the Gramvousa Ferry along with 1,000 other passengers. It`s very rocky getting from the boat to the beach so wear comfy shoes. It was like Blackpool on a Bank holiday. Very hot with no facilities and only a few shady trees. We hired a large parasol from the ferry but it was too windy to use it. The sea is very rocky so you need beach shoes. Lots of walking wounded coming back to the ship. Better to come before of after the ferry on a small boat. Then it`s paradise.

Just to cool off after the climbing to the fortress, which is steep. Rocky, rocky, rocky and practically no shadows to hide from the midday sun.

We did Cretan Daily Cruises and it was a great experience. See my review for that. This was the first stop on the tour. It has a cool ship wreck and you have the option to stay on the beach or climb a million stairs to the lookout / castle walls. We opted for the beach. We were some of the first ones off the ship and got a spot under one of the many trees. You don’t need an umbrella if you are quick. 1.5 hours was a nice time. It was a little challenging to get into the water as the rocks were sharp and then you have to cross a slippery large rock that runs across the water about 5 feet in. The water was warm and crystal clear.

Beautiful place with unfortunately too many stones in the beach area. Arriving there by ship, the route was nice.

So clear water you absolutely must have some sort of goggles to go under water and explore a bit. Stones are quite sharp so beware.

Hi everyone
I have a question.
2 years ago I went to a Gramvousa and Balos boat trip.
I really want to go to Gramvousa again without the combined Balos trip at the same day. In my opinion there is not enough time to enjoy Gramvousa at its fullest beauty. For the fortress snorkling enjoying the beach I just need a bit more time without thinking to continue my journey to leave Gramvousa for Balos.
Are there any public boat trips only to Gramvousa. (no private boat trips to Gramvousa) To be more precise -> From Kissamos to Gramvousa. If yes are they also with a big ship?
I went to the cruise 2 years ago with a small karavaki boat, with heavy waves. Well not so fun😂
Thanx for any advice

A bit silly question, but can anyone tell if you had a good internet connection there or is it "out of the reach area"?
