A beautiful beach that is spoilt by a minority of lazy, uncaring, selfish, disgusting dog owners who let their dogs foul paths and ramps OR worse still, bag it up and throw the filled bags to the side of ramps!!!!! 😡😡😡 Okay, so Tyneside Council pull perhaps have more bins installed but really???? When I go to the beach I... More

went along today with my fella, although the food was nice, seemed a lot of money and still had room for more unlike some other places in the area that leave you full to the brim

10 mins out of Newcastle and the next thing is your walking on a lovely beach, this is a beach walk for toonies who dont want to or just cannot drive for 30 mins further up the coast to the huge open expanse of beaches that Northumberland has to offer. Only down side in the winter is the whole of... More

This is a stunning beach at any time - and now there are two eateries at either end of the beach which means you can spend longer here when it's cold.

One of the best beaches anywhere. Shared our walk this morning with lots of dog walkers and photographers taking advantage of the glorious sunrise and very fresh air

Great to be able to walk my dog along the entire length of Longsands beach in winter months but I'm astounded to find so much evidence of dog owners not clearing up their pet's faeces. I frequently visit the region and this problem appears more prevalent in the streets, parks and beaches in these parts of Northumberland (Tynemouth, Cullercoats and... More

Long beach with nice hard sand for a good walk after lunch. Full of dog walkers and families. At the end of the beach there is a fish restaurant and then steps leading up to street level.

I don't know if it is a recent thing, but I don't remember seeing surfers on the beach at Tynemouth before, but there they were on a cold December afternoon! With cafés at both ends of the beach it's a great place for a stroll.
