I walked from Whitley Bay to North Shields and loved the scenery on this beach which was packed with families, surfers, dog walkers and many other people. I've driven along this stretch of coastline many times but this is my first time walking it. I will definitively come back again.

Great beach for kids as there is a long stretch of sand and rock pools at each end of the beach There is now a cafe at each end of the beach for a hot drink and a meal Well worth a visit

Up here visiting family, beautiful place, only one complaint there is not enough dog bins in fact i only saw 2, one on the the beach near the lido and one on the green by percy park Road, yet there are signs everywhere to pick up after your dog, which we always do, considering the amount of dog walkers in... Thank you for your review about Tynemouth Longsands beach. The beach is maintained to Blue Flag and Quality Coast standard with a comprehensive management plan to meet the standards required. There is signage in place regarding dogs and a seasonal dog ban. In addition to the dog bins there are also a number of general litter bins in the area... More

The beach is clean and tidy, usually with a number of dog walker out. There are some fantastic views early in the morning and make the prefect start to the day.

Enjoyed walking the beach on a cold but bright winters day which blew the cobwebs away. There were a few hardy surfers to watch and a choice of cafes at either end. Good views toward both Tynemouth and Cullorcoats. A lovely sandy but form beach to walk along on a winters day.

A great beach this as its got large sandy area, rocks at the end, rock pools for the kids to explore & 2 cafes. Access via steps or there are 2 vehicle ramps at either end for those not so steady on their feet - sometimes we drop family off at the bottom of the ramp then drive back up... More
