We got off the train in Tokaj to take an adventure really not knowing where we wanted to go to, but knew we could head to the cellars. It is quite a walk, from the train station to the downtown area, but well worth it....More

This cellar was pricey compared to other cellars near by. Of course this is the oldest and largest cellar built by a king and has the most history hens the reason for being pricey.

This is a no hassle operation, serving quite a number of Tokai wines by glass. Friendly lady by the counter, menu both in Hungarian and English. Set in a nice wine cellar.

We arrived on a roasting hot day 38°C - sat and lazed in the square over a leisurely lunch - quaffing the sweet wines and then descended into the blissful cool of the adjacent cellars for an official tasting. This is a beautifully presented cellar...More

There are impresive wine cellars inside, but most importantly, the only two of us had our own guide, which spent an hour or more with us, explaining everything about the wine making and six different wines that we tried. And all this at very reasonable...More
