About
Crowned Visitor Attraction of the Year 2022 at the Icons of Whisky Awards, The GlenAllachie Distillery is nestled at the foot of Ben Rinnes, in the heart of Speyside. Acquired in 2017, The GlenAllachie Distillery is 100% Scottish owned and managed, making us one of the few independently owned distilleries in Scotland. The most exciting part of rediscovering a brand is learning about the depth, character and quality that lies deep within each cask - we've unlocked an exceptional single malt, do you dare to discover?

Thank you Sue Brenda and Traey
Highlight of our trip so far. Great trip fantastic range of whiskies for the tasting. Would have put all of the whiskies tasted into our shopping basket. We chose ones that we would not be able to get outside of the distillery. Sue and Brenda gave us an amazing experience that ran over 4 hours with time relaxing in the bar. Many thanks to Tracy for dropping us back into Aberlour. Will definitely be keeping track of the future innovations in GlenAllachie and will visit again.

    Cracking Day
Have been on a few distillery tours over the years, Glenallachie was one of the best due to tour guide Sue and visitor centre supervisor Brenda both of whom made us feel very welcome, alongside the wonderful whisky this made for a great tour…. Glenallachie maybe not be one of the bigger named brands but the whisky is top class dram…. give it a bash. Treated myself to a wee bottle

One of the best tours I’ve done.
Had a wonderful tour yesterday by Brenda. Her passion for whisky was infectious. Her knowledge tremendous. It’s a fantastic distillery to visit. It’s unique in many ways especially it use of casks. The whisky is superb. It deserves its awards and reputation. Will take friends back to visit again. Many thanks.
Thank you for leaving us such a great review! We agree, Brenda is fantastic.

Hands down the best staff I’ve ever seen
Wow. This is a distillery that has the homiest, most welcoming atmosphere. I will be recommending this place to anyone headed this way. For starters, the whisky is excellent. The 12 year is phenomenal, both of the single casks we tried were incredible, and of course the 15 is great. The tour was educational, and with it being a much smaller distillery, very up close and personal. The staff were very well informed on the processes and how everything worked. The staff. Far and away the best staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with. If you are looking for a place to just try whisky and see some stills, this place is not for you. This staff treats you like family, share stories of their lives, and you leave feeling like you’ve met a long lost relative. Brenda and Sophie (not sure on spelling) have created an incredible environment for meeting new people, sharing a small bit of time together, and enjoying some damn good drama, which is what whisky is all about. Truly an amazing experience.

Excellent distillery tour with great staff!
This was an excellent tour and tasting session! It was my first time in GlenAllachie Distillery and our tour guide Keli was very friendly and informative. The breadth of tasting whiskies was great and the staff were very friendly in the shop.
We're so happy you had a good time when visiting us, we'll pass your kind review onto our visitor centre team.

    Warmest, kindest staff around!
GlenAllachie should be a “must” on your trip to Scotland. We arrived barely an hour before closing and the staff still went above and beyond to make our experience spectacular. Karen was especially wonderful, taking so much time and care with each pour. I was unable to drink, and she was incredibly accommodating and even bottled two small samples for me to try when I can drink again. I really couldn’t recommend this stop more, whether you’re a scotch expert or have never tasted it before!
Thank you for your kind review! We're glad you enjoyed your visit.

A fantastic distillery with a wonderfully warm welcome
Excellent distillery to visit with a very warm welcome. There is a selection of tours and we went for the standard tour and tasting at £25. Having been on several distillery tours the differential tends to be the tour guide and the whisky to be tasted and Glenallachie excelled on both counts. Keli was a great host and guide who spoke very well on the history of the Distillery and the remarkable and well regarded Master Distiller and owner of Glenallachie Billy Walker. Keli guided us through the many aspects of the distillery and whisky making process and a tasting of a number of tge core expressions of Glenallachie Whisky. There is a bar at the distillery for you to wait for your tour to start or to enjoy a dram or two after your tour where we met the most entertaining Sue who attended to our needs. All in all a great distillery to visit and great value.
Thank you for your review, Billy; we appreciate your kind words.

    Whisky with friends
‘Whisky friends’ the words used by Kelly our guide when talking about the effect their whisky has on strangers joining one of their small group tours. It’s true we were a group of 6, 4 of us joined by a couple we didn’t know. Everyone got on so well. The tour was great and Kelly was amazing. Glenallachie is a small distillery and one of the few to be privately owned. If in Aberlour or Craigellachie it’s definitely a well worth visit.
Thank you for your kind review!

    Great tour and great whisky
Helen and I visited GlenAllachie distillery as part of our journey to visit all whisky distilleries in Scotland in an effort raise money for charity. As a result we have visited quite a few now. We were met with Brenda who gave us a very warm welcome and introduced us to Mr Billy Walker himself. Kelly then hosted a relaxed, personalised tour which was very informative. She showed us what makes their whisky stand out. The distillery itself is the cleanest, tidiest working distillery I have visited. High standards have been set and maintained. A great tour with my favourite dram now facing stiff competition. Thank you to the team.
Hi Andy, thank you for your kind review! We're glad you enjoyed your visit. Good luck with the rest of your distillery visits!

What a fantastic experience today on the premium tour. Karen was informative, funny and certainly knows a thing or two or five about whisky. My husband and I have visited over 40 distilleries in the last 10 years and this was by far one of our favourites. The video was excellent, the models of the mashtun and stills were very cool and the little drampack was a great wee idea. Although all four of us were drinking it meant that we could go at our pace and take away anything we didn't finish.

We really look forward to returning in a few years to see what the team and Billy Walker have created- very intrigued.

We had a trip here on 11th September and it was fantastic. Brenda was fantastic in giving us great insight into the story of the distillery and the journey it has made and the passion from the top down really shines through. The virtual tour is very interesting and as it was a Saturday we kindly got a quick walkround which was a real bonus. We tasted 3 whiskies and for a curveball a 7 year old aged Panamian rum aged in GlenAllachie whisky barrels. Being a big rum fan too this was a real success! Not knowing much about GlenAllachie all 7 of us came away completely i awe of the experience and the quality of the dram. All variations we have tasted so far are superb. The trip was for my fathers birthday and he loved it.

Had a small group tasting and visitors experience. Graham was incredibly knowledgable: taking us through tastings during the very personal video of the process. As a smaller distillery, focussing on some specific tastes and releases, we were surprised and pleased to taste such a range of beautiful whiskies.

Staffed by those who have been in the business actively making whisky, the depth and knowledge was fantastic. Very personal service and exceptional care given to explore flavours.

Amazing tasting with Graham and Karen. With the unknowns around COVID at the moment we had booked in to do a tour and tasting and had great communication from Karen beforehand. On the day of the tasting we were warmly greeted by Graham and Karen and followed the COVID secure rules. The tasting included 4 drams and a wee glass to take away. Graham ran the tasting and his knowledge was fantastic
, guiding us through a virtual tour of the distillery and the tasting of the drams. He was full of whisky knowledge and could answer all our questions. The handmade still & mash tun were brilliant.
In the shop the service was equally as friendly and it ended a wonderful visit to the distillery. Would highly recommend a visit.

Visited the distillery with my wife and couldn't believe the quality of whisky produced here. Brenda and Karen are the nicest people you could meet and are passionate about whisky. When I returned home I was so impressed with their whisky I placed an order for four more bottles. Billy Walker was on site the day we visited and was a complete gentleman. I've visited many distilleries over the years and the quality of the whisky and the staff makes this one stand out. In a changing world of corporate dominance it's great to see traditional values surviving at Glenallachie. If you haven't tried their whisky yet make sure you do. It's now on my top shelf.

The experience and hospitality provided by GlenAllachie distillery and staff was simply exceptional!
From first entering the distillery, being greeted by Brenda to the actual tour and tasting of this incredible whisky provided by Karen, it was truly phenomenal from start to finish. Arriving to GlenAllachie to be greeted by Brenda and offered hot coffee on a freezing cold day we were off to the perfect start!
Karens hospitality and knowledge of the whisky was fantastic. Offering an almost hand tailored tour it was perfect for us to skip the knowledge we already know to leave more time for our bombardment of questions :)
The whisky tasting was sublime with a wide arrange of whisky being offered. Definitely one of the best in the world in my opinion. Cant wait to return

Everything about this distillery is superb. It begins with the picture postcard setting. The welcome is friendly and happy.
Everyone in the place is delighted to be there as they know they are creating something special. The tour with Karen was restricted due to Covid, that didn’t stop it being a great experience. The passion and fun she feels really comes across. If that wasn’t enough the whisky is superb. The single casks in particular are the best I’ve tasted. My favourite speyside distillery used to be Glendronach. Not any more . It’s winning lots of awards which are well deserved. If you only visit one distillery make it Glenallachie , you will not be disappointed. Also Aberlour next door was excellent.

We cycled there from Speyside garden campsite and were in need of whisky after a steep hill section of the route. We had a virtual tour due to COVID - Sat in bar, watched video and talked with guide. Our guide was informative, knowledgeable, very welcoming. I hadn’t drunk whisky in years thinking I didn’t like it but found 2 that i did. My partner enjoyed them all! (We had 4 different ones and got a wee plastic pouch to take them and our tasting glasses home with us). It was a beautiful location - good for walks n picnics near by. Overall a lovely experience. We splashed out on the premium tasting at £30 pp but there were Cheaper options available.

Our tour of The GlenAllachie Distillery was excellent, especially considering the COVID restrictions that were in place. Recently under new ownership (coming from the excellent GlenDronach), GlenAllachie is one of the few independent distilleries in Scotland. The whisky for the tasting was excellent, and the shop held some wonderful "only found here" discoveries.
