What a find! This lovely piece of history, which fortunately has been carefully restored so we can safely enter the 200+ year old building, once a functioning wool mill for over 200 years. Emily was on hand to welcome me, show me through and share some very interesting facts about Knockando. It's always a special experience if the guide(in this case, Emily) loves their job and has enormous respect for the significant contribution made by their "workplace". I was very glad to buy some products from the gift shop, including a mug with their special tartan! Thank you Emily, you are a great Ambassador for Knockando and I would highly recommend a visit. Furthermore, I hope to return one year in summer!

This beautifully restored cottage industry is well worth a visit. They show a film at the start of the self-guided tour that we did and it is extremely informative - never knew that so much work was involved in turning the wool into yarn and then beautiful fabrics.
If you go to the nearby Cardhu Distillery then take time to spend an hour here - you will not be disappointed

I visited with my parents, my other half and our daughter on Wednesday 19th July: having never been there before, it was a great experience, looking around the buildings and watching the video. Everyone involved in the 3.5m restoration of the historic mill was passionate about its history and heritage, making the exhibits come to life.

We also visited the cafe' and the shop, enjoying lovely scones and great coffee/tea. My parents are Italian, and my daughter is small, meaning that it took a few attempts at communicating the order for our food and drinks: I would like to pay tribute to the person who helped us with the order. She was so good with us and so helpful. We had already seen her when we nearly entered the staff office outbuilding by mistake, and again she was so nice about it.

Again, she came to my rescue when there was an issue with the shop's card machine, and she took me to the cafe' side to use that one.

All I can say is that she has curly hair and had amazing people skills. THANK YOU x

I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone.

Brilliant working woollen mill museum.

It was a bit strange visiting during Covid restrictions but all the same a very worthwhile visit.

The buildings/exhibits and machinery were all presented very nicely, unfortunately nothing was running during our visit due to Covid.

It was great to see such well maintained machinery in well kept workshops, it took me right back to when I used to work with very similar equipment many years ago.

The buildings are in a beautiful spot nestled into the landscape in a natural sort of way.

The cafe looked nice but again was closed due to Covid. The gift shop was well presented selling items made using cloth produced by the mill. The woman serving in the shop was also very welcoming and helpful.

A great place to visit.

The mill is well worth a visit if you are interested in the small local spinning and weaving mills that used to exist in many rural communities. There is not charge although they appreciate donations. It is all beautifully laid out with lots of good displays.
It also has a really outstanding café. We had superb soup, cheese scones and coffee: very reasonably priced too

The mill is tucked away in the Speyside Countryside in a very Country setting and all by itself. For sure it is aged but there is a lot of History to absorb and a small but attractive shop which also sells some of the Mill products. Some of the old machinery is fascinating and tells a story of yesteryear. When visiting there were Covid-19 restrictions in place

Fantastic tour of a small wool mill...if you like industrial and social history, if you like New Lanark or Styall Mill, you'll love it here. Smaller scale and more personal and friendly. Lovely volunteer/staff opened especially for us. Big thanks to Emily and to Robert

Beautifully restored kill buildings in a lovely country setting, and a nice little cafe. Kindly staff. No chance to see the old machinery in action though and the video, at 28 minutes, is too long unless you are deeply interested.

Just a last minute decision to go and we're really happy we did. Friendly staff and an overall fun experience. They have a nice little tour and a great coffee shop and store. If you are out in the Speyside area, definitely worth a visit.

We have had several visits to the Woolmill since it opened and each time treated ourselves to a wee something in the cafe.
Well, no more, paper cups, plastic cutlery and nothing but cakes or scones on offer. No longer to they have loverly crockery and real cutlery. No more homemade quiche and soup.
WHAT A CHEAP EXPERIENCE IN SUCH A QUALITY LOCATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!
