We're an independent shop in the heart of Selby Town centre established 8 years. At Mollie Sharp's you will find a wonderful selection of fine cheeses; beers, wines & spirits; hampers; gift items and more. Our product ranges are carefully selected, with locally sourced items being high on our agenda. This includes stocking beers and spirits produced right in the heart of Selby. We offer a year round hamper service as well as offering Cheese Wedding and Celebration cakes.

I arrived after closing - needed cheese for a weekend for 10 - tapped on the door and had the best time and bought wonderful cheeses - so kind to open up . THANK YOU

This is a shop as they ought to be. The cheese (a fantastic selection of British and foreign cheeses) is superb. In addition, they stock beer, wine and spirits - again, a good selection. There is a cool cabinet with delicatessen (salami etc.) and a range of jams, chutneys and so on. The prices are competitive and the service friendly.
I know that we managed - but I cannot imagine what food shopping was like in Selby before Mollie Sharp's opened.

My partner and I have shopped here before and have been served by an older gentleman, today we were not so lucky and were served by a young man. On entering there was a man being served, the person behind the counter was engaging with him, offered him some tasters and was telling him about the products. Whilst waiting we looked at the goods, we’re talking and it was clear we were waiting for our turn to be served. The server didn’t say hello when we entered, acknowledge or say “will be with you in a couple of mins”. Basically engaging with the customer and showing basic politeness.
Another man entered the shop so we retreated to the back to give everyone some space. The first man left, we went to be served and the person behind the counter went to serve the last man who entered and seemed confused why we said we were next to be served. He simply stood there and waited for our order, wrapped it and told us the price. No engagement, no offer to try the products, no “did you find everything you needed”. No courtesy whatsoever.
So I told him I thought his manner was rude, and asked why the man before had been engaged with and he didn’t even acknowledge we existed. Not sure if he was ignorant, a chauvinist who can only engage with men, or simply didn’t care,
We went into the shop to help support a local business but we won’t be back. Having served behind the counter for years myself I don’t choose to be treated that way,

This is a WONDERFUL shop.
They have lots of different cheeses that I can buy in smaller quantities. This is good as it means I can buy a little portion of one new to me to try (although they will give dames) and as I live alone I don't have to buy more than I need.
They also sell lots of different pickles, oils etc.
Why not visit and give it a go?

I ordered baskets for Christmas presents, they were really enjoyed by all.

We enjoy our cheese, so when we found Mollie's that made our Christmas.
The selection of cheese's tantalised our taste buds. Whilst there we also purchased some chutney and jam.
Outstanding balance of products in the shop to compliment each other. We were given a friendly welcome and was served my someone that had knowledge and respect for the items they had to sell.
Heartedly recommend a visit if you enjoy cheese.
