What a stunning area, Take time out to park up and walk around the Elan estate, Dozens of walks and plenty of good advice from the estates rangers, A visit to the local tea room at Pennbont is well worthwhile We visited during good weather and sat outside the tearoom and was well attended by Sandra's friendly staff, What we... Great views very narrow roads especially in a coach. The scenery was breathe taking.. as it was the end of Autumn the hues of the colours in the trees truly showed off the colour of the tapestry of life hues...

This place is absolutely stunning, with every turn there are photo opportunities and postcard worthy landscapes. This is our second visit to the Elan Valley and it's absolutely spectacular. Worth going there for a drive/walk/cycle

Been here a huge number of times. Favourite place in the UK. Combination of age of dams Edwardian plus water and very tall old trees

Lovely scenery, plenty of places to go walking/ biking. As always take care with children when you're near water. Well worth the drive & it's free. Fresh air.

We stumbled across this little gem of a place when exploring around our accommodation. There is a fantastic road running through the valley and the hills, and there are plenty of places to pull over if you fancy going for a walk. If you're anywhere near here, make the effort to go there. It's beautiful!!

I'm glad I did, the autumnal valley was a blaze of color blending in with rocky outcrops and mountains giving stunning views The high spot of a trip here is the... More

Shelley stayed near here. There's a statue dedicated to him. Also walk, great views. The visitor centre is well run with refreshments and friendly staff.

We visited the Elan valley on a beautiful autumnal day. An informative visitor centre with an interesting exhibition about the building and design of the dam and reservoir network, with some fascinating old photographs. There are a variety of walks which suited us well and on the day we spent the day walking, eating in the big and warm cafe... More
