The interactive components allow visitors to meet and listen to the accounts and personal opinions of key players, leading you around the many interesting displays to a very clever twist that I won't reveal here.

This was an interesting visit, we managed to book in advance of our holiday so we could print out out booking confirmation as is necessary in these times. Plenty of well signed walks around the site as well as the main museum which gives 'birds eye' accounts from different perspectives; i.e the partner of a mercenary; as well as many exhibits and scenes depicting the actual battle itself. We enjoyed a distanced drink and toasted teacakes outside in the courtyard, plenty of adjacent parking. More loos being opened would be appreciate, we know its difficult times.

Made a spur of the moment trip to the heritage Centre today. Signage said the site was open so we parked in the car park and paid the £2.50 parking fee only to find that everything was in fact closed. Why not make it clear at the entrance that there would be nothing open.

Hello. We are sorry to see you had a wasted visit. Due to Covid we have had to shorten our exhibition opening hours, and while the outside trail and country park area is open as usual, the exhibition is currently open 10.30 until 4pm with last entry to the exhibition at 3pm. We have made this clear on our website and facebook page but we are looking at further signage in the car park on the days we are closed (Thursday and Friday) and with our reduced hours.

Cafe coffee ☕️ was very nice Recommend from me and the support worker- note that care r s/ support workers get in for free but the person need pay £8:54 I think. We got around it in 35 minutes but if u take your time should take 60 minutes depending on what kinds of time u wish to spend but it is a place to go lots to do plus gift shop has lots of goodies u can to get .

Hello and thanks for leaving your review. As your title says, the site was closed in response to the national lockdown due to the Covid 19 pandemic when you visited. The outside trail was still accessible though and several signs on that walk show the actual location of the battlefield, which the council led a project to find. Inside the exhibition galleries is a room dedicated to the archaeology of the battle and the survey which led to its rediscovery in 2009.
