Localizada na Serra do Mar do Paraná, é uma linda obra de engenharia, tornada mais bela pela sua excepcional localização em uma área montanhosa e com lindas paisagens. É possível passar de trem ou fazendo a trilha do Itupava. Por esta última é proibido a passagem à pé pela ponte, mas é possível vê-la de perto.

A ponte sobre o Rio São João é histórica . Construída em ferro, está no meio da mata atlântica. Passa-se sobre ela fazendo o passeio de trem Curitiba/Morretes. Está bem preservada.

No meio da Mata Atlântica há a construção de muitas pontes e túneis, sendo esta a de mais difícil construção com muitas mortes.Deve se fazer o passeio com tempo bom,senao corre o risco de não se ver nada.

Bela paisagem, repleta de verde, proveniente do bioma da mata atlântica, totalmente preservada na região. A ponte São João situa-se quase no final do passeio Curitiba-Morretes e nos brinda com uma visão fantástica, dando a nítida impressão de estarmos voando.
O trem anda bem devagar, o que permite ótimas fotos e belas contemplações.

A vista da ponte desde o trem é simplesmente linda! O passeio de trem como um todo é encantador, vale a pena! Há visuais lindos do começo ao fim. DICA: no sentido Curitiba-Morretes, a maioria das atrações se encontra do lado esquerdo do tre ;)
