If you like waterfalls this is for you. Photo opportunities abound. At the end cross the road and walk up the Bewley valley track then return to the village. The same way.

We parked in the parking area on the edge of Arthur's Pass and crossed a bridge to get on the walking track. The rainforest was fairly thick and there were lots of small waterfalls and creeks along the way. It was a lot less crowded...More

Hike to Avalanche Peak is a must if you are in Arthur's Pass. It is an easy and well marked hike, bit exposed in the upper reaches and the round trip should not take more than 4 hours. Great views from the summit of the...More

Here's a mostly easy and gentle walk that will take you through subalpine forest to the Bridal Veil Falls overlook and onward (across SH 73) to Avalanche Creek, where water cascades over tiers of rocky ledges set against the picturesque backdrop of old-growth mountain beech....More

Wonderful walk. The tracks are well maintained, the bird life, the bush, and the nature is stunning. We visited in summer. The beautiful Rata was in flower. In Spring, Autumn, and Winter the life and scenery tell totally different stories. We will return to enjoy...More

We went part way along the track as we wanted to see the Bridal Veil Falls. The views along the track were beautiful with numerous stops for photographs. We only went as far as a lookout where we could view the falls and did not...More

I am not a seasoned walker (to put it mildly!) but the half an hour or so walk to see the waterfall was worth every second of a mostly uphill walk. It is breathtaking and has to be seen to be believed. The scenery along...More

This a pleasant easy grade one way walk of an hour or so. It is a lovely introduction to our fantastic beech forest. It is well graded and easy to do in traners.

Lots of stairs so take your time because the view is worth it. We were the only ones up there at the time and it was amazing. Safe track so suitable for children.
