If you do not drive in mt cook, you will probably not go Tasman valley. It is a 2 hrs walk away (one-way). Hence you can sign up for this to see the Tasman glacier and lake. The 4WD itself is quite an experience. Might be cold in winter but we did it on a sunny morning hence it was... More

Hi Lee M Thank you for your comments on trip advisor . I'm pleased you enjoyed your trip with me . We don't have enough time in the day to do longer trips , wish we did . To walk to blue lakes and back an enjoy the views would put at least another hour on to my trip .... More

We went on the heli-hike to the glacier, but added this Argo tour on as well and so glad we did! It's a fun, bumpy ride along a trail with more great sights and a stop to overlook the edge of the glacier which is slowly diminishing. Graeme, our guide, was funny and knowledgeable about all things nature and really... More

Graham was our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable friendly, and enthusiastic about the area. He is a volunteer first responder, fire chief and does trapping for the department of conservation for the area. I don't think there was a question he couldn't answer. There is a short drive from Mt Cook Hotel to beginning of the trail you then board... More

We had our guide Porenji who was an ex Nepalese sherpa drive us to the edge of the glacier bank and witnessed the receding glacier. Great experience!

We were the only ones on the trip so it felt like a personal tour. Our driver and guide was from Nepal and had previously summited Mount Everest. He also was a stunt double in the film about Everest 'Beyond the Edge'. The argo ride up to the Tasman Glacier was very bumpy, due mainly to there being just the... More

Dear Compliantpete, Thanks for your feedback on your recent Argo trip. I'm glad you enjoyed meeting Phurenje our top driver and guide. While I'm pleased you enjoyed the overall experience, your comments around the bumpiness of the ride will be taken on board. Enjoy the rest of your travels. Kind regards, Graeme Slatter More

We thought because we did the Glacier Explorer trip in the morning that this would not be really worth it. How wrong were we!! We were with three other wonderful Japanese tourists who added to our absolute joy of this trip. Naomi, Shin and Mama. What fabulous people to travel with! Lee was our guide and we travelled along the... More

Our guides, Graham and Purhengee were top notch locals with years of experience and so much knowledge to share. The argo ride up the lateral moraine of the Tasman Glacier was fun and surprisingly not very bumpy. We bombed through some big mud puddles, Purhengee smiling and laughing the whole way. He was such a enjoyable guide (He's previously summited... More
