Excellent Centre with great photos and information. I was astonished at how many people have perished climbing the mountain over the years.

As our ski plane was canceled due to weather, we were stuck at the hotel between coaches, so decided to go fro it. It has a short movie, followed by some interesting exhibits on mountaineering, mainly focusing on Hilary's feat.

Be sure to take the time to walk through the centre. Lots of interesting tidbits -- and I thoroughly enjoyed the videos in the downstairs screening room. Am surprised that it is free.

It's not something you should book until you get there due to weather. We always book the stargazing tour once we have arrived in the village and know what the weather is going to be like as it's no use booking that... More
