Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There’s no missing Fakhreddine Mosque when you enter Deir Al Qamar. It’s situated right in the city centre, on spacious former Midan, presently Dany Chamoun Square.

As witnessed by the inscriptions on its façade, it was built by order of Emir Fakhreddine I. Erected in 1493 it’s considered the oldest mosque in Mount Lebanon. Next to it, there’s former Emir Fakhreddine palace, which now hosts Marie Baz Wax museum.

Fakhreddine Mosque, with its basic square-shaped main building and one minaret, is nevertheless elegant in its simplicity. Makes an amazing part of the city centre ensemble with its sand-coloured brick houses climbing green slopes.

Fakhreddine Ist was obsessed by architecture and by building the most beautiful of what could be built within available resources.

One of the personal projects under his rule was Fakhreddine Mosque , the first to be built in the whole mount lebanon that dates back to the 15th century, at the entrance of Deir al Qamar Squarre.

This Mamelouk style mosque is certainly a must visit in teh area along with its 50 steps minaret that is still standing despite several earthquakes.

We had already visited several mosques of varying providence. This one is small but quite old constructed of pleasing stone hues. Makes for a great Kodak moment and possible time of reflection.

Situated at one end of Dany Chamoun Square, this small mosque is pleasing to the eye. Although there is nothing overwhelming about it, it's situation at one end of the square makes it appear that the mosque is in charge of the entire area.

Very small mosque but quite charming, and well preserved. If you go outside of praying times, you can have a look inside.

Located just off the main square in Deir el Qamar this little mosque is one of the many things to see when exploring the town. Nothing grand and not that beautiful, but worth a visit nonetheless.

This is an interesting historical building in that is the only masjid in the town and it was built sometime in the 15th century. Not as grand internally and somewhat plain externally it is still worth a quick visit when you are in the village.
