We were blown away by this spectacular place. Entry was €5 per person which you get a free key ring photo. Even without the key ring it was well worth it.
Beach area is fabulous. Water is crystal clear and the sea is balmy.

Friday 23rd July and we paid a visit to the holiday resort of Laganas, on the southern side of the Island. This included a visit to it’s beach which is situated in the picturesque Laganas Bay. Sorry that is all I could find good to say about Laganas and it's Beach.

It is a long narrow stretch of beach with golden sand along the coast. Behind the beach is lined with shops, bars restaurants, boat & scooter/car hire and any thing else that could be crammed in.

When we visited the beach was overly busy, row upon row of sunbeds, social distancing unheard of.

It was all totally over commercialised and noisy, not conducive for a quiet day on the beach.

There were a variety of water sports and activities available. Beach sellers patrolled the beach selling their wares.

The main road leading down to the beach is the Laganas Strip, filled with nightclubs, late night bars, floor show clubs, generally all rather seedy.

Definitely the resort, including the beach, is geared for young partying people.

Been there, seen it, would not recommend it, would hate a two week holiday here, maybe 40 years too old for the place.

Comeo Island just to the right of laganas beach, its a short walk or you can get a longer taxi ride but you miss out at stopping for a drink at the beach bars along the way. Take a walk across the bridge to the steps and pay 5 euros to spend an hour on the beach with a free keyring of a picture of your group, great for Instagram photos and a swim in the sea. Supposed to be beach bars, but they were closed. Unless it was just out if season.
Or take a taxi boat to turtle island and enjoy the nature. Boat with tour of the caves and turtle spotting about 15 euros. Get your deals from George on the strip. He is about mid way up on the left hand side and has all his prices in full view.

What a seedy sexualised place this is. It’s definitely only for the twenty somethings looking for a lads or lasses holiday. The first thing we saw as we entered the place was a strip club then night clubs and lots of young women parading themselves walking back from the so called “beach” and groups of young men walking around looking for women. There were also lots of youngsters on quad bikes showing off and non had a helmet on as they Arn’t required. If your young adult child is going here you need to be giving them some advice I know they won’t listen but at least you have said it!! I thought it was horrible.

Nice - parking was fine in October
Pay 5€ and get entry and keyring and an option of a 12€ photo too .
Advise to bring water ( nothing on site apart from toilets ) towel and swimwear . Beautiful location . Chairs and shade to seat in to chill .

Out of season in early October .. we went for the day , stayed 2 hours . The place was like a ghost town . Dirty , seedy … strip clubs , gentleman’s club , hardly any restaurants or bars open . I imagine it is jumping with clubbers in high season but I’m afraid they are welcome to it .. no comparison with Ibiza . It just looks tacky . We went to a beach front bar for a drink … floor was dirty , loo was hideous … dirty mop on floor .., no hand soap … people trailing in sand from the beach to use loo .. If you have kids DO NOT bring them here ! The beach itself was a disappointment also , dirty in parts . Shame really when zante is famed for its beaches .
We had planned to stay for lunch but the place was so dirty looking we decided against it . Also the dead cat left in middle of the road didn’t improve the appearance of the place at all , poor thing .

This is the worst beach I have seen, full of rubbish, lined with sunbeds, bars which you can't walk past without being accosted to eat or drink there.
Laganas is so seedy and the streets are full of rubbish which isn't cleared or cleaned, such a shame.
I knew this was a young person's place before booking but wasn't expecting it to be that bad. Lesson learnt, would I return no.

The Laganas strip is well known for its night life, bars and restaurants. But I was mightily disappointed with the beach and the surrounding areas.

There is litter/rubbish pretty much everywhere. The amount of discarded cigarette ends on the beach sands was disgusting. I don't know if it was sand or cigarette ash. The amount of rubbish buried in the sand was sad to see and this is an area of Laganas which is promoting boat trips to see the turtles. Surely you want to keep the beaches clean to ensure none of the harmful plastics end up in the sea which could harm the marine life.

I think the local authorities need to do a better job and maintain the area. Installing rubbish bins would be a good start as I saw none.

I have never seen before such a dirty place. This area is full of cheap bars and clubs and it is noisy and full of young english people getting drunk all the night. It was an extremely not pleasant surprise and I really hope it is the only place in Greece like this.
Never again.

This beach made me sad. It may have been beautiful once and is a nesting site for turtles but it is filthy. There are small bits of plastic, litter and cigarette butts all along the shoreline. The bars and restaurants at the one end have been allowed to spill nearly all the way to the sea, so at certain times it is difficult to even walk along the shore. All of these businesses are giving out plastic cups and straws, the latter often wrapped in plastic individually. There isnt a bin in sight so much of this waste ends up on the floor. It was shamefull and I couldnt wait to leave. There is also a constant nuisance of pushy sellers trying to sell you knock off sunglasses, hats, plastic jewellery, etc. Best avoided for your sake and for the sake of the beach.
