About
Water babies will love nothing more than a trip to Lanzarote Aquarium where they can see the largest collection of majestic marine life in the Canary Island. One of the Aquarium main goals is to educate visitors about the sea- that's why we have created displays with information about the importance of protecting the environment. For example ´The Aquarium Garbage´ an exhibition that explores the damage being done to the ocean, and what needs to be done to see fish that live in the beautiful blue beneath the waves. There are plenty of native Canarian species to spot throughout the visit such as turtles, blowfishes and tropical clown fish. The shark tunnel will delight young visitors and the hands- on experience in the touch- pools full of spiky sea urchins and slimy sea cucumbers.

- Teagan V7 contributionsGreat timeGreat half a day trip. Lots of information about each tank as-well as feeding times for the rays and sharks. Very good to see the rescue turtle as he probably wouldn't survive in the ocean. Good gift shop with friendly staff who speak good english and were very easy to understand.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 October 2023
- Shaun S34 contributionsLovely day outVisited on a Wednesday and managed to catch the Turtles getting fed. Quite sad to see the injured older Turtle but she's very well looked after and wouldn't survive in the wild. It is only a small aquarium but really is lovely and so well kept. Staff on the reception desk were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely return if ever in Costa teguise againVisited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 October 2023
- BazzaSwindon426 contributionsA bit disappointedPrices were €10 for kids, €15 adults, €12 seniors. Steep steps to get down to the aquarium. Very dark inside. Some big tanks but not many fish in some of them and not particularly well labelled. There were a few "hands in" pools, but again not much in them and didn't exactly fill my grandkids with enthusiasm. The best bit was the large tank/tunnel with a couple of small sharks. We stayed about 30 minutes.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 November 2023
- Claire JonesWarrington, United Kingdom24 contributionsWorth a visit! This was a great way to spend our morning. The staff were very friendly and informative. We went on a Monday so managed to see the feeding of the sharks and other fish at midday and 12.30. Out 6 year old son loved it, there are a couple of hands on Little Rock pools and plenty of things to see. The Turtle was so lovely to see and the baby one across the way was bobbing about quite happily. The turtle has been rescued as it lost a flipper due to plastic pollution. It’s great to be so close up to such magnificent creatures! Defo worth a visit, your ticket is valid all day so we went in did a full tour then nipped out for coffees and a snack and went back in to see the feeding session. Worthwhile and not expensive!Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 8 November 2023
- Paul BMidleton, Ireland9 contributionsWell worth a visit and support the rescue/rehabilitation of turtlesI visited today for the first time with my wife, we both really enjoyed our visit and spent time watching the different tanks, each fish has their own personality. Keeping fish is very difficult and expensive, rescuing and rehabilitation of sea animals takes a lot of care and money, seeing reviews that the Turtle in the tank (pictured) is sad and upsetting, yes it is. The lovely people at the aquarium have been looking after the Turtle who probably will never be able to return to the ocean because of damage done by human waste in the ocean. The aquarium is a place to learn about marine life and the damage we are doing to it with our waste, we should be upset to see the damage humans inflict on sea life, support the aquarium, rather than complain talk to the staff and discuss how they are working with marine life and support them with a visit. Many thanks to the staff for their dedication to care for marine life and educational experience, they get no financial support as charities do, 15 euro is well spent.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 November 2023
- LisaT_NI20 contributionsSmall but Mighty AquariumThis is a small but mighty venture... They need all the tourists and folks paying in, to continue the great work that they do of rehabilitation of the wee creatures, nursing them back to fitness so they can live their lives in the wild. Really enjoyed seeing the rays, sharks and all the tanks with every colour of fish from all over. Staff are very knowledgeable and care very much for their work. Great place!Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 December 2023
- Neil MLancaster, United Kingdom49 contributionsVery niceI arrived about 1130am and had a quick wander around. The place is being updated but it is not intrusive. Feeding time starts at midday and is a wonderful time. The staff are multilingual and very passionate about their work. TOP TIP. Feeding time is Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Those are the days I would recommend.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 12 January 2024
- J PNottingham, United Kingdom7 contributionsGood for kidsEnjoyable trip with family (boys age 7, 11) We were advised by hotel staff to visit on a Friday because they feed the sharks at 12. This part of the experience really made the visit worthwhile so enquire about feeding times before you go (they are fed 3 times a week) .The staff were informative and friendly and gave explanations during the feeding time. Well worth a visit, we were there about 2 hours.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 January 2024
- StephenDublin, Ireland198 contributionsIt’s okay but very underwhelming, seen better aquariumsWebsites would have you believe it’s allot bigger than it actually is. We took our four year old and we found the experience very underwhelming. Now, I will say it appeared to be I a state of renovation but there was little educational material to read. Only for I know sharks and marine animals I could tell my son what they were.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 30 January 2024

Staff very helpful and obviously working hard to make improvements. I loved to see all the fish, some quite unusual, the sharks, not to mention the rescue turtle. We visited the aquarium on a Wednesday specifically to see feeding time. It was amazing. Aiser was absolutely brilliant at explaining things to us and you could tell that he’s really passionate about his job. The receptionist was really good and remembered us from our enquiry the day before. It’s a relatively small place but it’s packed with exhibits and so interesting. Try to visit at feeding times, seeing the sharks and octopus feeding was brilliant. Take your time, your not pressured to go through in a rush. Definitely worth a visit, personally, I’d go back to see it again.

Small place not a match for aquarium in gran canaria. U won't spend more then 15 minutes inside . Over price at 15 euro . I would suggest dropping prices and charge 5 euro per adult

Went here by myself at the end of a solo trip to the island. From previous reviews I didn't expect much but I absolutely loved it. Yes it's small and €15 per adult, but I didn't feel this was too over priced considering some of the aquariums I have been to.
The staff are friendly. It's clean and cool inside. The tanks aren't over populated and some may appear empty but if you take your time and actually look you'll see the fish are just hiding.
If you are determined to get through as quickly as possible then you will. I spent 90 minutes and probably could've spent longer or even went round the whole thing again. I thoroughly recommend it for people of all ages who have an interest in marine life.

This is a great place with different fish to see as well as turtles. It was lovely to spend time to look at the fish in your own time no rushing. The admission fee was only €15 an adult. We only found it due to walking from our hotel to the beach.

Good place to spend 1 hour to see aquatic life.
At the moment some parts of it are under construction, so you will have restricted access. Verry friendly staff, everyone speaks english. Great prices as well for entrance and souvenirs, we got to see how they feed the turtles, then got to see sharks, baby sharks all sorts, worth the trip there !

It cost 15E for adults and 10E for a child so great value. Not the biggest aquarium I have ever seen but still full of bits and pieces.
Bring your own lunch and sit in the small amphitheater style seating in front of the large tank (there are two and the second one is better). We were able to sit there for half an hour eating and drinking, chatting and laughing with the very best view.
The hermit crab with the HUGE gorgeous shell was very impressive and the smaller hermit crab was in one of the open tanks that children can put their hands into and get there noses up close to the action (there were about 6 of these in total). You could touch starfish and much more. The walk through tunnel is pretty tiny and the view is 2 small sharks so I would say the best part is the larger tanks you can sit by. The huge stingrays were gorgeous and seem to sleep in the darker back corner but that’s where the bubble is that a child can sit in which means you were looking directly down in them.
We had a great time and I think maximum 3hrs but more likely 2hrs. The area around it is tired and dirty looking so it’s one of those go there and then go elsewhere places.
They have a whole area where rescued turtles are kept while the recuperate before being released back into the wild. When we were there 1 turtle was in-house and had 2 missing flippers so he may be there to stay.
They have one of those collector coin machines like the places in the UK so you will need a euro coin and a 5cent coin to take one of those home. We collect them so happy to see a machine there.

Entry is though a poorly stocked souvenir shop. When we descended the stairs there was a horrible mouldy smell. It took us and the the kids (12, 10 & 6) about 1 hour or less to go through museum. I only spotted 2 turtles even though they said they rescue a lot of them that ingest plastic at sea and release once cured.
The shark tank has 2 small sharks . As previously pointed out, fish descriptions are on a rolling computer screen in a few places. So you effectively have to read and memorise the descriptions as you walk through the aquarium as you see different fish. A simple board at each tank would be more effective

Nice to visit something a little different whilst on holiday. We went here on a day when the weather was a little gloomier. Short queue to get in, but no need to prebook. Tickets are reasonably priced and the tour is very enjoyable. Lots of different animals. The rescue turtles are particularly amazing and lovely to look at! Well worth a visit.

Quite small and not exactly cheap. That said it is a nice little visit to go through and look at all the sea creatures. We went on a Friday at feeding time so saw the sharks and turtle being fed and then the diver doing the feeding in the big tank. The stretched out the visit quite a bit and made it much more worth it. I think outside of feeding times you’d be through this pretty quickly for the price. The aquarium acts a hospital and rehabilitation for injured and sick turtles which get released back to the sea if possible so you don’t mind so much spending the money.

Such a lovely little aquarium! Great way to escape the sun for an hour or so. Our favourite thing to do was watching the ocean tank. We sat for a good 30 minutes watching the family of sting rays and sharks swimming around. Lovely to know part of the entrance fee goes towards conservation work and helping rehabilitate injured sea turtles. It was a real treat to see some of the turtles.

Hi, is there any advantage of buying the ticket beforehand? As fast lane or something? Or does it not make a difference and one can just show up and buy the ticket at the entrance. Thanks in advance!

There is an access ramp and the path is accommodated for weelchairs throughout the whole visit. Hope to see you on September!

Yes there are regular buses between Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise. The aquarium is only a short walk from the bus stop.

how long has this been here as never heard about it before ??? have been to Lanzarote a number of times in the past ?

A great establishment which seems very established. We were very impressed with their work on conservation and it would appear that that is been going on for several years. We really did enjoy our visit and went around three or four times to take it all in! Great website with loads of information and English translation. Just search for it through a browser. I hope that this helps.

Is the aquarium suitable for my 4 year old who uses a wheelchair. Will she see things.
Written 22 February 2017
I would say yes. They have their own entrance for strollers and wheelchairs, and even though some of the tanks are a bit high up, many of them is definitely so that she can see everything. The little shark tunnel and the big tank with the biggest fishes she can definitely see everything.

Hi I was just wondering how far away this aquarium is from Costa teguise please and how much is it to get in!?
Written 13 April 2016
We paid something like 23 euros for 2 adults and a 3 year old. AS people have said it's not too far. It's also quite near a little shopping centre with a few bars and restaurants. About a 5 minute walk.
