We had a very positive experience with Tommy's bikes. They accommodated a wide bike request with smaller framed road bikes for teenage boys, a tandem, an electric mountain bike and a trailer for our non cyclist. The kind couple running the shop were flexible with bike returns time and supplied breakdown gear. It has a well used workshop feel which personally I liked as it spoke of their authenticity. Everything was quality, well used, well serviced equipment which was a refreshing change to the other shops that were much more shiney, corporately presented, inflexible, family neutral/unfriendly. Well done Tommy's bikes!

Two bike rides

Hired bikes for myself & kids, and couldn’t fault the service we got. Fully fitted us out, ensured bikes were in good order & showed us suitable route. We were late getting back but once we rang to let them know there was no issue.

Efficient and cheap

I hired a road bike for a week from Tommy’s. I’m no great cyclist and, whilst there are lots of bike stations which will rent you a top end (and top priced) bike, I just wanted a decent machine to do 2-3 hours per day.

The owners understood what I needed, sized me by sight only and gave me some possible routes to take. All very efficient. The bike was a Focus road bike, not new but well maintained and working flawlessly. The price seemed fair enough as well.

All in all, a good transaction and I would recommend.

Good day out

We had two adults plus a three year old and a five year old. One went on a chair at the back and the other went on a pulled chair system st the back of the other bike which also allowed the child to cycle. We received excellent service and advice and the bikes were in good working order. We cycled to arricife and back with no problems but our aching limbs.

Friendly and flexible bike hire

We were looking for 2 road bikes for 3 days around Costa Teguise. We visited 5 bike shops and found Tommys to be the most friendly and reasonably priced. Once we spoke to the helpful lady we knew it was the right place for us. We arrived earlier than planned to pick the bikes up and they were already there for us. The bikes were in pretty good condition - not new, but certainly able to cope with the 200km we did in 3 days. The hire included helmets and repair kit in the price, rather than other places which charged extra. Thank you Tommy's!

Hassle free bike hire

I hired a bike for 3 days from Tommys. Hassle free and very quick service. Tommy knew immediately my bike size which said to me he knew his business. After a few tiny adjustments, i headed for the hills of Lanzarote! I highly reccomend Tommy's Bike hire

Friendly helpful business

Came across this bike shop when staying in Costa Teguise and we wanted to hire two bikes for two weeks: several different bikes offered to try out before we selected two touring bikes. Bikes were in good condition / working order and useful advice on local routes. Reasonable prices. Credit card accepted. We had a problem with a slow puncture which was promptly dealt with. Would hire again without hesitation - my only quibble would be that opening hours are a bit limited but they seem happy to make sure you get your full duration of rental rather than rushing to have it back early.

Misleading brochure/unhelpful people

Their brochure lists mountain bike rentals as 1, 2 and 3 day prices. However, upon presentation, I was informed that rental must be for 3 consesective days. This was no use to me, since I only wanted casual 1 day rentals and was mislead by the brochure. Also, I enquired about guided tours, as advertised on their Web site but was informed that these were not being offered.

Yes our brochure says that discounted rates are given for rentals of 3 days or more, but we expect our clients to understand that this would be for 3 or more consecutive days, because of the time involved in fitting and setup ( pedals, seats, frame,tyre-pressure, etc. ). Yes we offer guided tours, but we need a minimum of two clients, unfortunately there was nothing booked for the days that you were on Lanzarote, it helps if we are given advance notice.

My husband and friend hired bikes for 3 days to go road biking whilst in Lanzarote. The bikes were a good quality and Andrea and his wife were both very helpful about the bikes and the area.
