On a warm day without rain then the journey up to Waihi is a nice interlude. From the open trucks you get a good view of the countryside. The cafes provide some good snacks.

Took our grandson on a return ride and he loved it. Large cuddly toys in carriages for the children which is a nice touch. The open air carriage was fun even in the rain. Waihi station had old rail memorabilia the the children could play...More
