About
We offer a variety of ʻGenuineʻ fishing excursions from a half day 4 hour, or a full day 7 hour trip. On all trips we do a mixture of Game Fish Trolling & Bottom Fishing, approximately half time trolling and half time bottom fishing, depending on what is fishing the best at the time, we use a variety of artificial and dead bait lures on best quality PENN and SHIMANO tackle when trolling for Tunas, Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado, Amberjacks, Barracuda etc, depending on what is in season at the time. The bottom fishing we sometimes do 'Drift Fishingʻ but mostly at anchor, over a specific mark, either the edge of a shelf, or on a line of rock and sand or basically anywhere we see fish showing up on the fish finder screen directly under the boat, it is very precise and effective. We use a mixture of baits, whole fresh caught dead baits on the heavy tackle for Big bottom feeding Flatfish, Snappers, Morays, Amberjacks etc and any big sea bed scavenger species that often take a big bait. Also we use lighter tackle for small to medium fish, and catch the fresh baits for the big rods, like Mackerel,Boga, Herring etc and other good eating fish like Snapper, Sea Bream, Amberjacks, Sea Perch, Trigger fish etc using baited hooks, feathers, artificial baits, just off the sea bed bottom. We practice ‘Catch & Release’ on most fish and any protected species accidentally caught are returned back to the water alive, all Game Billfish like Blue Marlin, White Marlin & Spearfish are always released. We also offer 'Private Charters' and 'Specialist trips' at discounted prices where you can decide want you want to target, we will always advise you as to what is fishing best at the time, as we also want a productive trip. The British owners of the boat and their crew are all fishing enthusiasts with many years experience who know these waters like the back of their hand. We cater for the serious fishermen and are also very willing to teach the novice, set up all the tackle and bait and give any advice and help if needed. Run by Father & Son, Mick and Jack, the Crested Wave has a very well known and respected reputation as a Genuine Fishing excursion. If you are an experienced fisherman you will know nothing is guaranteed when it comes to fishing, but believe us, no boat crew tries harder than the Crested Wave team. We do guarantee you will be very well looked after by the 3 of us, and pride ourselves on our customer service, that is why we are in the top of the reviews and have many regular repeat customers, and is probably the most well known fishing charter boat in Tenerife. Everything is included in the price, no hidden charges! All equipment, tackle, 2 rods each, bait, cold soft drinks, water and beers (food on the 7 hour trip). Full toilet facilities and shade around the whole boat if required. Reservations are normally necessary a few days in advance, but you can always check with us at short notice in case of any cancellations.

Approaching the end of our strict lockdown in Tenerife, Manhattan's Bar Los Cristianos decided to take the opportunity to be some of the first out to enjoy a days fishing at very favourable rates. The previous day was too windy however, Sunday 24th of May proved to be a nice morning for the occasion. The crew of the 'Crested Wave', Mick and his son Jack, made us feel very welcome considering the crisis and worked tirelessly throughout the trip to keep us entertained. We did indeed catch a couple of nice Bonito fish and one of our party did stay on for the afternoon trip and catch some very large Tuna. All in all a great day out and highly recommended!

While on a family holiday in Los Cristianos, Tenerife I decided I’d like to spend a day on a fishing trip.
I spoke with Mick a few days beforehand and he ran me through how they operate and the different types of fishing they do etc. His knowledge & experience convinced me to give Crested Wave a try and I certainly never regretted it.
Mick’s son Jack was Skipper the day of my trip and he (and the whole crew) couldn’t have taken better care of us. I was one of 3 lucky people to catch a large fish - a 33kg wahoo wahoo (and there were a few other who caught smaller fish while we spent a short time angling.
I’d highly recommend Crested Wave if you’re thinking of trying a day (or a half day) fishing while you’re in Los Cristianos, a great day out for all ages and abilities.

Dear bigdodwest, Thank you so much for your detailed and kind review of our business, from your initial contact to landing a fish on board. Jack really had his 'Game on' whilst the Wahoo were being targeted, he was Top Skipper for them ! He's not doing bad now with the tunas as well, I think he is winning that race as well. Thank you also for your recommendation, it really is the best thing anyone can do for us. Kind Regards Mick, Jack and the Crew 'Crested Wave'

My wife and I on our first stay in Tenerife booked a day out on Crested Wave in October 2019 and despite some inclement weather had a great day. Within ten minutes of leaving I hooked into and with the help of Jack's great skills landed a 25kg Wahoo. No others took but then turning to ground fishing all the people on board, including my wife, all caught a variety of fish including a 20kg Amberjack. Must thank Jack's skippership and his crew for their skills and good refreshments. As a result we are returning to Tenerife in May and already booking another day out on Crested Wave. We cannot wait to get back on board!!!

Thank you very much for your full 5 score rating and positive review, we really appreciate all our customers feedback and also when you have taken the time to add some words as well. Yes Jack done particularly well during the Wahoo time here with some new tactics he was trying which paid off very well ! The bottom fishing is normally pretty steady and the 20kg AmberJack is a nice fish to catch, also good the your wife caught as well, save any 'Micky Taking' after the trip ;-) So thanks again for the review and look forward to meeting you again in May. Kind Regards Mick, Jack and the Crew 'Genuine Fishing, Crested Wave, Tenerife'

It is and remains a hobby and reactions of course, nothing caught or poor service. I find inappropriate. Have already gone 3x myself, 1st x nothing not even a bite, none of the 10 fishermen,On January 15 for the 4th time, when bottom fishing, several rays were caught and released again. When dragging, Jack immediately found the ideal zone and it didn't take long before we got a bite. An hour ago 4 fellow fishermen worked to get a blue fin of tuna up to the boat. Estimated weight 175 kg. Has been released again. After that 2 more big eye tuna were brought out, 55 and 35 kg respectively. I can fully recommend Crested Wave, the excellent skipper Jack and the crew know what they are doing. I will definitely choose this fishing boat next time.

Dear Jack. That is a very honest and common sense review, and pleased to see it come from a reel angler who knows what he is talking about. When we do sometimes get a complaint, which is inevitable especially in our business, it is often from an uninformed individual, not always but often is the case. There was 1 guy on the boat yesterday, who was not very pleased as we did not catch any tunas, even though we have done literally every day last week, but that was just unlucky, as you know and have explained. So I really appreciate you making that point in your review and I am sure it will help the amateur future anglers understand what this sport is all about. Look forward to the next time, Regards Mick, Jack and the Crew

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic day out fishing with the Crested Wave crew. This was my first time fishing and now I can't wait to come back! Within the first fishing rod going into the water we were quickly catching small mackerel. Within the hour we were catching larger tuna; I was even able to catch a large stingray with the help of the highly skilled staff. You are truly able to get a hands-on experience with Crested Wave, "Genuine Fishing" is very much an accurate description for our trip.

Better yet, we were even offered to take some of the tuna home (which was courteously cut up into steaks for us).

Overall, I would highly recommend Crested Wave to anyone interested in fishing in Tenerife. We will be back!

Dear SophiaNJohnson, Thank you so much for your detailed and very positive review of us and our service, and most of all pleased to see we have created another 'Angler'! Also your recommendation to others is the best thing anyone can do for us, it's very much appreciated. And now you've had a bit of fresh tuna as well, 'Everyone's a Winner' Look forward to the next time, TEAM 'CRESTED WAVE, GENUINE FISHING'

So I am just back from my annual trip to tenerife and I am so glad I decided to go out for a full day on the Crested Wave.......
From the moment I booked with Mick the owner I knew it was going to be a good day, his communication was flawless from start to finish phone calls for reassurance, email with location and full details about our planned day ahead.
I am a 43 year old man who has been fishing since I was a boy especially on boats and this was the best trip to date.
We started off trawling for 2 hrs which was a nice chilled way to get to know everyone on the boat, after no joy trawling we stopped to do some bottom fishing where everyone on the boat caught at least two skate to a decent size we also had Mackerel rods out to catch live bait of which we did in bucket loads. Then we headed back to drop off the lads that were only on for the 1/2 day trip and jack (skipper) got us a lovely packed lunch with all the trimmings. Then the 4 of us left headed back out for the remainder of the day (cold beers and juice were always available for those with a thirst)

We reversed it in the afternoon and bottom fished for the first half (plenty more skate)
And then we got to about 15.00 and bought the rods up and put out the tuna rods to start trawling again, we had 8 rods out so 2 each that we’re all set up at the back of the boat in holders. We trawled for the remainder of the day until it got to about 16.15 when I decided to go to the front of the boat to have a sun bathe and swimming in front of the boat were 4 dolphins for miles and miles such a joy to see. So I was at the front of the boat thinking what a great day I had had and that the tuna would live to fight another day which I was fine with as we had caught plenty of fish... Then Boooooooom one of the rods went mental I ran to the front of the boat in excitement to see one of the lads into a big fish, this is where Jack the captain lept into action and earned his title as skipper, he started chucking live mackerel into the waters and then baited up 3 rods (not being used) with Mackerel and one by one we all hooked into a big fish, all 4 of us hooked at the same time it was extraordinary scenes. The first lad that had hooked with the lure got his fish up first to reveal an Albacore Tuna of around 35/40 kg then eventually one by one after almost an hour of battling we all got our Tunas onto the boat all very similar sizes. Jack was amazing so professional and skilful and wanted nothing more than for us to all get a big fish and that we did..
I know this is a big long review but I couldn’t get it across any other way and words could never describe how good the day was..

You might not catch a Tuna on the day you go out cause that’s just fishing but believe me they will try their hardest to aid you to get one, if you do it will be the best catch of your life and if you don’t you will have a great trip and see some wonderful sights..
Crested wave I thank you dearly and hope all who travel with you get tight lines..Thanks again.

Worth every cent. What better way to spend a day than out on the water with that sea breeze and the added bonus of reeling in a big fish. The team at Crested Wave managed to accommodate us at short notice (although I’m sure they would have preferred if we booked in advance) and Jack put us right on the fish hooking up a Big eye tuna. We also caught a variety of species whilst bottom fishing including big rays and sharks.

Would recommend doing the full day trip to get the most out of it, the team provide a decent lunch to keep you fired up for the next fish.

We also saw whales and turtles for anyone keen on that kind of stuff…

Unique experience resulting in some epic photos to remember it.

See you next year!!

Mick and his Son run a Brilliant boat. Me and my Mrs caught a lovely big Ray which nearly ripped my arms of and the Mrs had a very nice Skip Jack Tuna which we took to a local restaurant and they cooked it for our Tea with Canarian pots, salad and a few beers all for €20. Lots of Ray's caught on the boat as well by the other guys. Loads of fun and very well looked after by the crew as well. And a Beer included to round of a perfect day. We will be definitely back Mick hopefully for a big Tuna. Great communication via Watts app before our trip and whilst there and once we were home as well. Great guys and a great trip. Please book with Mick.

Excellent day out with a hugely experienced crew that will do everything in their power to catch. Fishing was tough when I went out but we still all caught some Rays off the bottom. We did have a screaming run on one of the lures, but unfortunately the young angler on the rod didn't strike properly and the fish was lost. You could tell that Mick was genuinely disappointed, he even offered to have me back on board the following week to make up for it. I would highly recommend The Crested Wave, they are genuine game anglers who give you a very good chance of catching the fish of a lifetime. If I'm ever back in Tenerife, this will be the first thing I book.

An excellent well organised day by Jack and the crew.We set off in search of Blue Fin Tuna and my son who has never fished before caught and landed after about 1.5hrs battle a “World Record” Blue Fin Tuna weighing +170Kilo on an 80lb class tackle.
This was an amazing result and determination by my son and Jack to land this fish.
On the day there were 2 other Blue Fin Tuna’s caught by the other people on the boat and plenty of Mackerel to help replenish the bait box.
There are plenty of cold soft drinks and beer available all included in the price.
The trip was great value for money and we also saw some whales as an added bonus.
The 1/2 day or full day trip is ideal for complete novices or experienced fishermen.
Thanks Jack and the crew for a very memorable day and a memory for life for my son
