Trishaw ride to see the Street Art and sights of Georgetown is amazing
The street art is incredible as is the whole ambience , history , ….. everything about Georgetown . We got two trishaws and did an hour on those past all the street art , including the heritage cat shop, and so many other sites of Georgetown . It was so much fun .

Breadcrumb trail through a beautiful destination
These beautiful pieces, loved by the selfie-set give a wonderful trail through a gorgeous destination. Georgetown isn’t classically beautiful, but it wears it’s history on it’s sleeve and each street shows a mix of the cultures and events that have shaped it. By finding these little exhibits you are drawn through the town and introduced to more of what the place has to offer.

    Penang Street Art
Painted on the side door, Boy on a bike is a famous artwork by Ernest Zachaerevic. Many other wall artwork made the city very famous. Hundreds of wall murals scattered across the city.

    Street Art in Penang
The street art is what made Penang famous. While walking around, it’s like going on a treasure hunt to see which art I can see. It was intersecting with different streets but I managed to find the art while rummaging through my Google Maps guide. I’ve seen street art in other countries but this one also defines what Penang culture is really all about.

    Hip Penang
Exploring Penang is of much fun with the additional of street art. Beyond meandering around historic buildings and temples, visitors can also check and find the hip and creative face of the Malaysian city. The paintings scattered around George Town really adds color to the tourist experience.

Great to see some clever artworks
We saw many works of art as we walked the old streets of George Town. A few were hard to find and easily missed if you weren’t carefull. We had a town map showing where they are so just followed it in very hot weather stopping for a refreshing drink now and then . We will see more over the next couple of days as we discover more of this interesting town. They are well done and very clever, well done to the artist involved.

Visit in the evening and be prepared for a lot of Instagrammers
It was terribly hot - over 100 Fahrenheit & nearly 40 Celsius - while we were in George Town. We tried doing the street art during daylight hours and gave up. We tried again at about 5 p.m. and it was a far better experience, albeit very touristy. Some clever pieces that really attracted the Instagram crowd. Most pieces had people there. Would I consider it a highlight of Penang? No - but if you are out and about it is fun to see something different.

    A great perspective!
Mohd Remyzan Remy was our guide for the Withlocals Georgetown street art tour. Remy showed us great street art that we would never have found on our own. More importantly, he also gave us the social economic background of the art. How it fits into the cultural history of Georgetown. It was fun and eye opening.

Lots of awesomely beautiful street art in the Old Penang district of George Town. A photographer’s paradise of lovely murals, seemingly everywhere, most of which are being damaged by the elements.

I'm not that into street art, but I have to admit some in Georgetown is pretty creative. The trouble is that there are few opportunities when each spot is not swarming with tourists angling for that perfect selfie (which is exactly the same as the shot taken by every other visitor, of course).

Friends who want to try Henna Tattoo there, I recommend that you should see the shop's on-site Henna artwork for other people before deciding to go there... We tried the first shop and it cost RM$150, which I believe is not cheap at all... In the end, we received a poorly drawn artwork that couldn't even get a straight line right... It's clear that she didn't put any effort into it... It even felt like she was randomly doodling... Moreover, the color started fading out within 2 days... The most ridiculous thing is that I originally chose a cheaper and simpler design, but the she persuaded me to choose a more complicated design, which turned out to be something she couldn't do at all... I didn't want to argue or make a fuss, so I just paid and left... But I hope others will be smarter consumers next time and be cautious.

The amazing street art that appears to be everywhere in Penang is one of the best things to observe while strolling about the city; some of the pieces have even achieved some kind of notoriety.
