To be in the middle of the space of these quarries in service makes you live a unique spatial and temporal experience, of the geological time and of the humans' from the antiquity to Michelangelo and to the present men and artists. The beauty of the place is astonishing. To be inside the mountain is a particular, universally significant sensation.

The museum is very nice. There is a lot of marble and marble scolptures. There you can see a lot of tools for digging marble. There is also a small shop with home made marble products.

Fascinating how difficult life was for the Cavatori, well shown in statues, work tools, with the breathtaking view of the working marble quarries/ cave. Wonderful!
