Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Today is the 20th anniversary of the catastrophic floods of 2002 that caused unbelievable destruction in more than a third of the Czech republic. The flood has destroyed the bridge’s railing as well as a statue of an angel, but the main structure itself has withstood the unbelievable force of the rushing waters and today the historic bridge stands, beautifully repaired, in its full glory.

Pisek is medieval town with pleasant people everywhere. On the square you can find several very nice coffee places. I spent here one night on the way to Pilsen. The bridge is really unique but surrounding is not like in Passau which I recommend very much.

Great bridge, the oldest in Czech Rep. very historic and great scenic view especially at night. Every tour group stops here and it is a great place to meet to go for a drink or coffee which are plentiful near the bridge

Pisek is a mid size city in the Czech Republic and is about an hour or more from Prague. It has a nice square with outdoor table service at several places. They have sand sculptures on display on the river. I would recommend the sweet shop in the new remodeled library on the square. Great place for non smoking and healthy sweets and drinks.

After you admire Charles Bridge in Prague, you will be intrigued to visit Pisek's stone bridge which is even older.

Recommended for a quick stopover in Pisek to walk the bridge and have a bite or a drink nearby,

Old and stone. It is what is advertised. Oldest in Czech and 6th oldest in Europe. Not crowded in February.

A beautiful stone bridge with statues on its side. Lovely view to the castle and the river.

Stopped to admire the bridge as I had heard of it. I have visited Charles bridge in Prague and could not resist walking on this one. Such a sense of history. The bridge feels ancient and makes us feel miniscule. Beautiful.

The Stone Bridge in Písek in the Southern part of Bohemia, Czechia, is even older than Prague’s most famous Charles Bridge. Almost destroyed by flood in 2002, but carefully reconstructed to its original appearance, gives a beautiful scenery at any time of the day. The riverside is pretty clean and its construction allows to take beautiful photos of the bridge from different angles. Certainly must have a stop here to breath the local atmosphere.
